When Adeline was the fresh age of 5 her family moved from the cozy town of little boulder, Georgia back to the even cozier town of mystic falls, Virginia. Her parents had never told her why they moved but she welcomed the change with a bright smile and Met her best friend of 12 years, Caroline Forbes. The blonde had been by Adeline's side everyday since the pincers moved to town. The pair had been through everything together. So it was no surprise when on the first day of junior year Adeline and Caroline walked into the school side by side and greeted the pair of Bonnie and Elena.

Elena was a short girl with brown hair and brown eyes. She was nice from what Adeline knew but always seemed like she was shallow. Elena nodded at the girls and turned back to Bonnie, hell bent on ignoring everyone. Adeline almost sneered but Caroline's grip tightened on the girls arm.

Caroline all but squealed when a boy walked past. He was new from what Adeline could tell. Tall with light brown hair. He was wearing a worn leather jacket and sunglasses. Adeline rolled her eyes. Sunglasses... inside.... On a cloudy day.

Elena giggled. "Caroline , all you can see is back."

Caroline shrugged at the shorter girl. "It's a hot back." Bonnie nodded in agreement. They watched as he made his way into the office. Adeline quickly loosing interest and turning to open her locker that was only a few feet away.

Elena rushed past, almost knocking Adeline over as she moved. Adeline just sneered but turned back to her locker to gather her things for her first class. History. Mr. Tanner was a snooze fest so Adeline will be surprised if she doesn't fall asleep as soon as the bell rings. She turned to Caroline.

"I'm going to history. I'll see you at lunch, I'm gonna sign out and go get us burgers from the grill." Caroline squealed in excitement. She loved a cheeseburger from the grill and she would gladly take that over school lunch. With a laugh Adeline made her way towards Mr.Tanners class

She sat near the back of the class by Bonnie. It wasn't long before the class filled up and Adeline was sat behind the new boy.

"Once our home state of Virginia joined confederacy in 1861 it created a tremendous amount of tension within the state" Mr. Tanners voice droned on. Going in one of Adeline's ears and out the other. She didn't mind history, in fact, she loved it however she hated mr. Tanner. Adeline tapped her foot as an attempt to keep entertained. "People in Virginias northwest region had different ideals."

Adeline looked down at her lap at the sound of a buzz. She quickly pulled her phone out and read the text that she had received from Caroline. It was her order for the grill. Adeline already knew it of course but she responded with a smiley face anyway. It wasn't until Mr. Tanner started to yell at Adeline for having her phone that she looked up. In her surprise she accidentally knocked her book off her desk.

She went to reach for it but before she could grab it the new boy grabbed it for her. He looked up at her and held the book out to her.

Adeline was in shock as she stared at the boy. A sense of fear took her over as she looked over his features. The longer she looked that more terrified she got. The background quickly started to fade and in its place was a woodsy scene. Birds chirped and the sound of crickets seemed to drown out Mr. Tanner.

He was bloodstained as he stared at her. Blood dripping down his chin, blood shot eyes, holes in his shirt. Adeline would've let out a scream but as quick as it came it was gone. They were no longer in the woods and instead in the very boring history classroom.

Adeline swallowed thickly as she took her book back. It had never been that vivid before. The boy's eyes hovered on her for a moment before he turned back around slowly. As soon as the bell rang Adeline shoved away from her desk with her books in hand. Rushing out of the classroom she let out a puff of air. It was like a veil had been lifted off her head and the pressure was removed. She shivered at the image of the bloodstained boy.

She made her way quickly out to the parking lot and to her car. She sat in the drivers seat with her hands firmly held onto the steering wheel. A short breath before she finally reversed and drove out of the parking lot. It had never been that vivid before. She had never felt like she was actually there before.

Her knuckles turned white as she twisted her hands against the steering wheel. She had always seen things but she never felt like she was there. She rushed quickly down the road to Main Street, with every thought in her head being about the new boy. What was it about him that made it ten times stronger?

It was a short drive to the grill which she was very thankful for. It was the only way these lunch breaks were possible. She had thirty minute so a five minute drive was appreciated. Especially after history today. She walked gracefully into the door but not before she was bumped into by someone exiting rather quickly out the entrance. It felt like a brick wall had hit her, sucking all of the air out of her system.

She would have ignored it had they not mumbled a 'watch it' behind her back. The man's voice was low as he spoke.  She spun quickly around on her heel.

"You wanna say that to my face?" She said rudely to the man. He was several feet away before he turned and stared at her. He was a tall man with raven hair. He had bright blue eyes, that looked capable of sucking someone in. The man carried an aura of confidence with him. She would've thought he was quite handsome if not for his snobbish attitude.

"You so do not wanna play with me right now little girl." The man squinted his eyes at her. A glint of familiarity played in his eyes as he looked at the girl. He ignored it. It seemed to happen a lot in this town.

"No i think I do." Adeline took a step forward. "Before you start running out of another door, you might wanna look out the giant window right infront of you." She pointed towards the window for extra emphasis. The man clenched his jaw but tilted his head in curiosity. He seemed to study her face carefully. He took a step forward.

Behind the man began to blur, the image of a giant house took place. The man looked up with his hair swept to the side and a smile on his face. He tossed a football in the air before... it was all gone. Main Street was back behind the man and he held his jaw clenched.

"Clara.." before the man could get out another word Adeline rushed inside and away from the man. She was breathing rapidly. They've never moved like that before. They've never felt so real and vivid. She tried to calm her beating heart to a normal pace but it was no use. There was no calming her nerves.
