The ornate wood door stood in front of Adeline as she wrung her hands together. She just had to see, she just needed to check. She pushed the heavy door open and made her way inside. She passed through the house until she found the stairs to the basement. It was cold down here as she wore a see through top and swimsuit still.

She walked carefully down the long skinny stairs until she made it to a large wooden door with a small peephole. Standing on her tippy toes she looked through the small gap to try and see inside. When nothing appeared to be inside she began to unlock the door. She walked slightly inside the empty cage. It was small and dusty and held a cot in the far corner. The floors were covered in dirt And the walls were made of stone. It was old. Very old.

Her breath was swiftly knocked out of her as she was slammed against the stone wall by an unseen force. She didn't need to even open her eyes to know it was Damon and she had just freed the beast from its cage.

"You bit me." Adeline reminded him as she tried to push him off. She knew it was no use but still she attempted.

"You liked it. Remember?" He pulled his head back and looked at her. Turning her head at his words so he wouldn't see the color that appeared on her cheeks. "You don't have to pretend you didn't."

She shook her head. "I didn't." Her voice trembled slightly as she spoke.

"No?" Damon drawled bringing his face closer to Adeline's neck. Her breathing picking up slightly the closer he got. "Then why is your heart about to beat out of your chest?"

She made a futile attempt to shove him off again. "Damon quit teasing."

He moved just enough for her to be able to slip out from his grasp. "What are you doing here?"

"I don't know." Adeline shrugged Turing to the door and making her way upstairs. Damon following shortly behind. "I kept...seeing you. Hearing you."

Damon threw himself down in an arm chair. He still looked like death. He layed his head on the back of the chair.

"Yeah because I wanted you too." Damon peered through his eyelid at the blonde. Her eyebrows scrunched together in confusion.

"Because you wanted me too?" She sat down opposite of him.

"It's a thing. I'll explain it later when I'm not so hungry. " He grumbled. He looked at Adeline suggestively. She squirmed under his gaze.

"No." Adeline said quickly as she realized what he was suggesting.

"Prude." Damon's face held the ghost of a smile as he closed his eyes again.

Adeline sighed as she stood up. "Well now that I've sufficiently damned mystic falls I think I've got to get home."

Damon's eyes snapped open at her words. A flicker of genuine amusement shown across his face. "Damned mystic falls? Please, you've only just made things more interesting."

Adeline stopped at his words her hand hovering above the doorknob. "You were locked up for a reason Damon."

"Yeah yeah yeah." Damon flicked his hand. "You bite a girl once." He pointed at her. "That begged me too. And suddenly I'm the monster."

"You are a monster Damon." Adeline shot back calmly. A flicker of hurt passed over Damon's features but it was quickly wiped away by his signature smirk. "You kill people. You manipulate them. You bite people against their will."

"Against their will? Funny that's not what I remember happening." Damon was standing now.

"Please." She knew he was right she just didn't want to admit it. "Don't flatter yourself Damon. Whatever you think happened didn't."

Damon moved towards her in an effortless predatory way. "You may be right. But let's not pretend you're some innocent little damsel either." He stopped a foot away from her his piercing gaze locking on hers. "You came here, you let me out. What does that say about you, blondie?"

"It says maybe I was stupid enough to think there was an ounce of trust in you." She turned and placed her hand on the doorknob but Damon's hand ontop of hers stopped whatever movement she was about to make.

His voice was soft and any ounce of predatory teasing was left behind them. "Quit trusting me. I'll only disappoint you."

Adeline turned her head slightly to him. All of her words failing her as she turned the doorknob and continued walking out of the house.

When she was finally home she walked straight to her room and threw herself in her bed. Her mind was reeling and she was exhausted. She was almost asleep when a sudden voice made her shoot up from her bed and stand up.

"What do you know?" The voice screeched.

Adeline rubbed her eyes to focus. It was Elena. "Why does no one know how to knock anymore?" Adeline said mostly to her self. Elena however completely ignored it.

"What do you know about Stefan and Damon?" Elena said sternly. "I mean that's the reason your always whispering to Stefan isn't it? And the bruises from Damon."

"Stefan's just a friend. He's been telling me about some of my family history." Adeline sighed running a hand through her hair. " and as for Damon," Adeline took on a deep breath. "We just got a little carried away." Adeline hated lying about it but it wasn't her place to tell Elena.

"That's bullshit Adeline and you know it." Elena sighed. "They don't age, they don't get hurt, they change in ways I can't explain. They're always so secretive."

"Elena, look it's not my place to tell you." Adeline sat on the edge of her bed. "But go to Stefan, ask him about what he is. He'll tell you." Elena made way to move out of Adeline's room but Adeline calling her name stopped her. "And Elena, trust him. He's good, no matter what you find you, you can trust him."

Elena nodded and walked out of the room leaving Adeline all alone. Adeline let out a large sigh throwing herself backwards on the bed. She stared up at the ceiling thinking about all the damage she had done today.
