"So explain it, last night I'm watching nine-0 a commercial break comes on and I'm like I bet it's that phone commercial." Bonnie exclaimed as she helped set the table. Adeline placed silverware down next to the plates as she listened to her talk. "And sure enough it's the guy and girl with the bench and he flies to Paris and he flies back and they take a picture." She made a camera gesture.
Elena laughed. "Oh come on! That commercial is on 24/7."
"I mean I believe it. You did predict that guy I was dating was gonna end up cheating on me." Adeline points a finger at Bonnie.
Bonnie points one back but Elena swats it away. "I mean anyone with eyes was seeing the way he was googly eyed over Melisa." She paused. "Anyone but you I guess." Adeline made a fake pouty face.
"Okay fine how about this? Today I'm obsessed with the numbers 8-14-22." Elena rolled her eyes at Bonnie. "How weird is that?"
"Maybe we should play the lottery" Adeline looked up from the table setting to the girls across the table.
Bonnie stared blankly at her. "Ha ha hilarious."
"Have you talked to your grams?" Elena asked with a chuckle.
"She's just gonna say it's because I'm a witch. I don't wanna be a witch. Do you wanna be a witch?" Bonnie pointed at Adeline with a shrug.
"Only if I get to wear one of those cute corset dresses with the flowy sleeves." Adeline danced around the kitchen waving her arms up and down. Pretending to be riding a broomstick. Elena and Bonnie erupted into laughter. Bonnie even joking along. The door bell rang and Adeline continued her antics all the way to the door. "I'll get it."
Adeline opened the door for Stefan and led him around the stairs into the kitchen Where Elena greeted him with a bright smile and a peck on the lips.
It was quiet as they all sat down to eat. Elena's store bought pasta making Adeline's mouth water. "Did Tanner give you a hard time today?" Elena asked Stefan as she wiped her mouth politely.
"Well he let me on the team.. so.. I must have done something right." Elena chuckled at Stefan's words.
Elena turned to Bonnie. Obviously trying to warm her up to Stefan as she didn't have to with Adeline. "Bonnie, you should have seen Stefan today Tyler threw a ball right at him, and -" Bonnie cut her off.
"Yeah I heard." Adeline slightly hit her leg against Bonnie's under the table. A little warning to play nice. For Elena. Adeline could see it was important to Elena for her friends to like Stefan.
Adeline cleared her throat. "Why don't you tell Stefan about your family, Bonnie?"
"Uhm divorced. No mom. Live with my dad."
"No about the witches." Elena cut in causing Stefan's head to whip towards hers. "Bonnie's family has a lineage of witches. It's really cool."
"Cool isn't the word I'd use." Bonnie shook her head.
"Well it's certainly interesting. I'm not too well versed but I do know that there's a history of Celtic druids that migrated here in the 1800s."
"My family came by way of Salem." Stefan nodded looking like he was deep in thought.
"Really?" Stefan looked genuinely interested. "Salem witches?"
"Yeah." Bonnie had a small smile.
Stefan turned to Elena. "I'd say that's pretty cool."
