"Oh, did the thunder wake you too?"

"No," Heeseung replied. "I haven't been able to fall asleep yet."

"Why not? What time is it?"

"I don't know," he admitted. "But how can you sleep through all this noise?"

"Counter-question. How can you not sleep through it? Isn't it somewhat soothing?" I asked, turning to face his direction.

I heard him shift slightly. "Yeah, it is, but I just can't seem to fall asleep. My body won't fully relax. I don't know why."

"I'd like to help you fall asleep, but I'm not sure how. And I don't think you'd want me to sing you to sleep. That would probably keep you awake even more," I joked.

I heard a soft chuckle from Heeseung's side. A brief silence followed. "Can I ask you a favor? You don't have to if you don't want to. It's just a thought that came to me."

"Hmm? What is it?" I asked gently, waiting for his request.

He hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Well, could you maybe, um, stroke my head? I think it might help me calm down... but only if you're okay with it! Don't feel obligated or anything. Like I said, it's just a thought that popped into my head." He sounded nervous, almost apologetic.

Without giving it much thought, I got up and made my way through the darkness toward his bed, following his voice. I wasn't entirely sure why I did it; I'm usually someone who values personal space and avoids physical closeness. Yet, I found myself moving automatically, feeling oddly at ease.

"Could you make some space?" I asked once I reached his bed.

He seemed surprised and had probably not noticed me getting up. "Oh, um, yeah, sure."

He scooted over toward the wall, and I sat down on the bed, leaning my back against the headboard. His back was turned to me.

"If your legs get cold, just use the blanket," he said.

"Okay," I replied, starting to run my hand through his hair gently.

The room was bathed in a soft, dim light from the storm outside, creating a soothing atmosphere. As my fingers moved through his hair, I could feel the tension in his body slowly beginning to ease. Each stroke was calming, and the rhythmic motion seemed to blend harmoniously with the sound of the storm, creating a cocoon of comfort.

The patter of the rain against the window, the occasional rumble of thunder, and the soft rustle of Heeseung's breathing created a lullaby of sorts. I found it calming too, feeling the rhythm of his breaths and the gentle, almost imperceptible rise and fall of his shoulders.

Heeseung's body gradually relaxed under my touch, and the tension seemed to melt away. I could hear his breathing become more even, a sign that he was slowly drifting off. It felt like we were cocooned in a serene bubble, insulated from the chaos outside.

After a few minutes, his breathing became steady and deep, indicating that he had finally managed to fall asleep. I continued to stroke his hair softly, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere we had created together.

In the quiet of the room, with only the storm's symphony as our background, I too began to feel my own eyelids growing heavy. The warmth of the blanket, the rhythmic sounds of the storm, and the peacefulness of the moment made it easier for me to relax.

I closed my eyes, letting the serenity of the night wash over me. The thunder outside became a distant murmur, blending seamlessly with the comfort of Heeseung's presence. Slowly, I drifted off, the last thing I remembered being the gentle strokes of my hand through his hair and the calming ambiance of the room.
