"It's pretty late. When do you plan to leave? You need to get some good rest," I said to Heeseung.
He turned his gaze from me and then shifted his entire body to face me more fully. "When would you like me to leave?" he asked, his tone surprisingly earnest.
I felt my heart begin to race at his question. Why was I reacting this way? I awkwardly broke eye contact, feeling a blush creep up my cheeks. "Um..."
"Do you want me to leave now?" he asked, propping his head on his hand and tilting it playfully, a teasing grin on his face.
"You know that's not what I meant," I replied, meeting his gaze again. I rolled my eyes, trying to play along with his teasing.
Heeseung's grin widened. "So, you want me to stay longer then. I'm glad we're on the same page."
I felt a light flush of red spread across my cheeks again. The way he was looking at me made me feel a bit unsettled.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" I finally asked, my voice tinged with embarrassment.
"Why aren't you looking at me?" he countered with a playful lilt in his voice.
I met his gaze again, our eyes locking. It was challenging to maintain eye contact, but I made an effort. "You're being weird right now."
"First you call me crazy, and now you're calling me weird," he said, sitting up straight and chuckling softly. "You are the reason I'm acting this way, Chloe," he added, gently tapping my forehead with his index finger.
"Hey!" I exclaimed, swatting at his hand and rubbing my forehead with my other hand.
"Wow, you've got quick reflexes," Heeseung laughed, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he looked at me.
My turn came next. I flicked my finger against his forehead in a playful response.
His grin faltered for a moment, and he raised an eyebrow. "That you'd actually dare to do that!" he said with a mock indignation.
The playful banter quickly turned into a lighthearted scuffle. Heeseung leaned closer, a mischievous sparkle in his eyes, and I could feel his warmth as he shifted his weight towards me. I couldn't help but laugh as he tried to retaliate, his hands reaching out in a feigned attempt to tickle me.
I ducked and dodged, our movements becoming more animated. As I shifted to avoid his grasp, I accidentally bumped into him, causing us both to topple onto the bed in a heap of laughter. His body pressed against mine, and for a moment, the world outside seemed to blur into insignificance.
Our faces were inches apart, and I could feel the gentle rise and fall of his breath against my skin. The room was filled with the sound of our laughter and the soft rustle of our movements. His hand brushed against my arm, sending a shiver through me. The close proximity made my heart race once more, but it also filled me with a sense of warmth and comfort.
Heeseung looked into my eyes, his gaze softening from playful to tender. His touch lingered for a moment, his fingers lightly tracing the outline of my arm as if reassuring himself of my presence. His expression was a mix of amusement and affection, making it clear that this playful moment was something he genuinely enjoyed.
At the end of our playful scuffle, the atmosphere in the room was filled with a mix of warmth and intimacy. The room was softly illuminated, casting a gentle glow over everything. The bed, now a disheveled mess from our playful tumble, served as a cozy backdrop for our laughter and lightheartedness.
Heeseung and I lay there, faces close, with our laughter gradually fading into contented smiles. The air was warm and comforting, infused with the lingering echoes of our playful banter. The moment felt suspended in time, with a sense of connection and affection that went beyond mere playfulness. The world outside seemed distant and unimportant, leaving us wrapped in the shared warmth of the moment.
