After breakfast and our conversation with Jungwon, Heeseung and I spent the rest of the day together. Despite not being in South Korea, we did our best to avoid the public, as we knew there could be fans or paparazzi around, especially after their recent concert in the city.
We wandered through quiet parks and small, cozy cafés, savoring the peaceful moments away from the bustling crowds. We focused on enjoying each other's company, talking about our plans, and just appreciating the time we had together. It was a welcome change of pace, allowing us to relax and connect without the pressure of public scrutiny.
In the evening, the members decided to go out for karaoke and invited me along. Heeseung and I were the last to arrive.
As we entered the karaoke room, all eyes turned toward us. Among the many curious gazes, one stood out—Jake's. His expression was a mix of surprise and something more complicated. There was a flicker of hurt and maybe even a hint of jealousy in his eyes as they locked with mine. The intensity of his gaze made the atmosphere around us feel charged, and I couldn't ignore the pang of discomfort it brought.
As the evening progressed, the karaoke room filled with laughter and energetic performances. Everyone was in high spirits, and the atmosphere was vibrant with music and camaraderie. Although I was a bit shy about singing in front of everyone, the other members were incredibly supportive. They cheered me on and encouraged me to join in, making me feel more at ease.
Heeseung and I remained close throughout the night, often sitting next to each other and sharing whispered jokes and smiles. Our proximity didn't go unnoticed. Jungwon couldn't help but grin as he observed the curious and somewhat puzzled looks from the other members.
Eventually, the youngest member of the group, Ni-ki, decided to address the elephant in the room. With a playful yet serious tone, he spoke up, "I have to bring this up because I think everyone's noticed. Chloe, you're acting differently around Heeseung compared to how you are with the rest of us. Is there something we should know?"
The room fell silent as everyone turned their attention to me, a mix of curiosity and anticipation in their expressions.
I looked at Heeseung for support, feeling unprepared for the sudden turn of events. The weight of the moment made my nerves spike. Heeseung, sensing my anxiety, gently took my hand in his, raising it to his lips to place a soft kiss on the back of my hand. His gesture was tender and reassuring, and he then flashed a broad grin at the group.
The room seemed to hold its breath for a moment, and I felt a flush of shyness at the sudden display of affection. My heart raced as I noticed out of the corner of my eye that someone was quietly slipping out of the room. It was Jake. Jungwon quickly followed.
Before I could process Jake's departure, the remaining members began to shower us with questions and comments. Their curiosity was palpable, and I could sense a mixture of excitement and surprise in their voices. They were eager to understand the nature of our relationship and how it had developed, their questions coming fast and furiously.
Heeseung stood by my side, his presence a comforting anchor as we navigated the flood of inquiries.
