Graduation

Cameron's POV
2 Years LATER

"Where is my tie?!" I yell to Karlie as I frantically look around the bedroom, Athena and I share in our new apartment.

"It's on your neck Cameron. I helped you put it on remember." She says and I touch my neck and groan. "God we're not going to be late. Let's go." She says and we head to the college.

"I know I'm just excited and nervous." I say as she drives us. Todays the day Caleb and Athena finally graduate. After Karlie and I graduated, Athena and I got an apartment together closer to her school so she wouldn't have to commute so far every day. I've been loving it too. We are argue over little stuff of course like who takes the trash or wash the dishes but of course we make up and love each other more. We pull up to the school and we meet my mom and Athena's mom by the entrance.

"There you are. It's just about to start." She says and I sigh in relief and we take our seats. I check my pocket and smile. The ceremony starts and I spot her and Caleb at the front since they're graduating with honors. I'm so proud of both of them.

"Caleb Sims, summa cum laude." We cheer louder than everyone else in the building and he shakes his head in embarrassment but smiles and waves at us. "Athena Levine, summa cum laude." We cheer again.

"WHOOOH GO BABY!!" I yell and she blows me a kiss and waves. The ceremony ends and we go outside to meet our new graduates. "There they are." I say when I see them come out. I run to Athena and lift her up as Karlie runs to Caleb in his arms almost knocking him down. "Im so proud of you baby." I kiss her as she smiles against my lips.

"Thank you baby. I'm finally done!!!" She yells and we laugh. Mom comes over and hugs her and I take that as my chance to hug Caleb.

"I'm proud of you too man." I say against his shoulder.

"Thanks. It sucks I may never see you crossing that stage but I know you're going to do great in whatever you choose to do." I nod and smile. We look over at the girls and he nods.

I take a breath and go over to Athena. "Baby?" She turns to me with a smile. "Can we talk?" Her smile fades into worry but nods. I take her hand and we walk towards the quad of the school where it's quiet.

"What's up baby? You're scaring me." She laughs but I can tell she's nervous.

I grab her hands and stand in front of her. "Athena, I have been in love with you for over 12 years. I loved you before I could even hear your voice or know your name. You became a huge important piece of my life and I never want you to not be." She starts to tear up and so do I. "I've wanted to do this the moment you told me you loved me back but I wanted to wait for this important moment in your life." I get down on one knee and she gasps.

"Cameron." She whispers. I pull out the box in my pocket and open it revealing a diamond ring. "Oh my god baby."

I smile. "Athena Levine, my heart, will you please do me the honor of being my wife?" I ask and she nods her head. "Is that a yes?"

"Yes! Of course it's yes!" She squeals and I smile and slide the ring in her finger. "Oh my god!" I kiss her deeply. "We're getting married?"

I nod. "Yes baby we're getting married." She hugs me and jumps up and down in my arms. I pick her up and spin her around when we hear cheering from our family. "She said yes!"

Karlie rolls her eyes. "Of course she said yes. I told you not to stress." She hugs us in congratulations and everyone else joins.

Her mom comes and Athena sobs in her arms. "I'm so proud of you sweetheart. You did good. My beautiful girl is in love." They hug heartedly.

"So where's my ring?" Karlie asks Caleb and he freezes up and she hits his chest playfully. "I'm joking god! I'll probably have to propose first just like I asked you out first." She points out and I laugh at them.

I look at my family and I feel so loved. Athena comes back to me and wraps her arms around my neck as I wrap mine around her waist. "Hello my fiancé." I say and she smiles.

"I like that. My fiancé. Wife will sound so much better though." She says and I nod in agreement. "I love you." We kiss.

"I love you too."
