Bondita didn't know what to reply after hearing Batuk's story. He suffered a lot behind her back.

She hated herself for not being there for him.

Most importantly, she had to talk to Anirudh about this.

"Bahu, maybe if you call at Batuk's college or something, he will call back hearing the call was from you," Trilochan said hopefully.

"Kakasasurji, I will talk to Patibabu at first. Then I will call Batuk," she replied with a small assuring smile. "Don't worry. I won't let this family fall apart. You have taught me well."

Trilochan nodded.

Meanwhile, Chandni reached the GeetKala building.

"Hello... I am Chandni. I signed a contract with your agency," she said with a bright smile on her face.

The man rolled his eyes. "Chandni. I am Mayesh," he just gave a basic introduction. "Come, I will show you your recording room. You will sing the songs assigned to you. Then we will feature it on radio and sell some records too. You are famous in Calcutta but Tulsipur people don't know you yet. So the pay will be less. Don't argue ever about fees. Got it?"

Even though she found Mayesh extremely rude, she just smiled. "Yes, Mayesh."

"Sir. You are a woman. Call me 'Sir' and never by my name," he said sternly.

Chandni just nodded. "Okay, sir."

Bondita came to the court, with lunch for her husband. Nobody knew she came here but she wanted to talk to Anirudh alone and it wouldn't be possible in the house for now. Because knowing Anirudh, he might end up yelling too and then other family members would get involved.

So it was better to talk about Batuk as early as possible and in his office.

The moment she stepped in, all the men in the court looked at her as if she had grown two heads.

"Is that Barrister Bondita?" someone mumbled.

"Yes. Wasn't she in coma?"

"I guess, she is awake."

"To be honest, I am happy seeing her. It means Barrister babu will be back here at least."

As soon as she heard that, she turned to the group of barrister men.

"What do you mean by Patibabu will be back? Is he not here?"

"Oh, do you not know?" came Sujoy, the barrister who hated women rights. "It's all due to you, we junior barristers are suffering."

"What?" Bondita was clueless.

"Stop acting innocent, Barrister Bondita. Due to you, Barrister Babu stopped coming to court and started being ruthless. A senior barrister like him, who was supposed to guide us, went off-track. All due to you. See, that's why women shouldn't be given so much freedom. And—"

Bondita didn't further hear Sujoy's words, because only one thing was echoing in her head: 'Barrister Babu stopped coming to court and started being ruthless.'

How was that even possible?

There has to be some sort of misunderstanding. Anirudh could never go off-track.

"No, Barrister Sujoy. There is a misunderstanding. Patibabu came to court today. I..."

Sujoy smirked. "It looks like no matter how ruthless he can get, Barrister Babu is still afraid of his wife. He is keeping you in delusion. I don't understand what's with this husband-wife duo. Always doing drama and ruining our lives. Here's the deal, Barrister Bondita, how about you leave all these and keep your husband's bed warm? Maybe after that, everything will be fi—"
