DESPITE THE DIFFERENCES THAT THE Beef family had, there was one thing that they all could agree on, and that was the scene they stumbled upon that morning was the most bizarre and unexpected thing they would ever come across. Katie Fak and Richie Jerimovich were sat in the back of the kitchen on one of the counters.

The pair of them looking at ease as they laughed together. Their bodies surprisingly close to each others. With Kitty occasionally leaning her body into Richie's, her head touching his shoulder, as she laughed. Beer cans in their hands.

It was not only a strange scene due to their usual relationship, but also due to the wide, carefree smiles on their faces. Ever since Mikey's death, both Kitty and Richie had become closed off and very standoffish. Smiles on their faces were rare; Richie's were only reserved for his daughter, whilst Kitty's were reserved for either her brother or the sarcastic smiles she wore whenever she would argue with Richie.

They only pulled away when they realised that they had company, only now realising that they had actually stayed in the restaurant all night together. Simply talking, laughing and occasionally even shedding a few secret tears. Kitty threw her empty beer can away, ignoring the way that Carmy glared at the pair of them, clearly already frustrated with their behaviour, but neither of them cared.

Once Carmy called a quick family meeting in the dining area (one that for some reason half of the family was missing from, including Richie), Kitty predicted that the peacefulness she felt whilst in the restaurant with Richie the last few hours was going to get stomped under Carmy's shoe.

"Okay, everybody, go ahead, grab one," Carmy said, opening a cardboard box and pushing it towards the middle of the table. Ignoring the phone that was ringing in a different room.

"Nice shit, Carm," Sweeps complimented, reaching over to grab an apron, "Nice shit."

"Hey, Carm, the phone's ringing," Marcus stated.

"Yep, I hear that. Thank you, Marcus," Carmy nodded.

Kitty caught the blue apron that Marcus threw towards her. She lifted it up, her eyes scanning it. It was a plain blue one, looking freshly cleaned. A nice difference to the white apron she was currently using that had certainly seen better days.

"This way we're gonna look like a team, right?" Carmy explained.

"Mine is better, Jeff," Tina commented, shaking her head as she gestured to her white 'Kiss the Chef' apron. One that she wore ever since she started working at The Beef.
