"You live alone here?" The lady asked, the smile never wavering from her lips, making Seungcheol have this sudden urge to step back and shut the door on her face.
He didn't do it, ofcourse.
Instead of doing what he wanted to do, Seungcheol just scratched the back of his neck, quite confused and frustrated on top of it, "I guess so?"
"Oh," her brows all of sudden frowned, "No wonder every time you visited here, you were alone."
"Huh?"
"I remember you from the last time when you bought this property." The lady smiled, almost cheekily, "You didn't live here for many days though. I thought you were about to sell this off since you never visited back. It's good to see you here again."
"......."
Seungcheol genuinely didn't know what should be said at that.
Was all neighbours this nosy? Seungcheol was kind of annoyed, the information that someone kept an eye on him didn't really pleased him at all.
His annoying grumpy personality was getting out, and Seungcheol tried really hard to suppress his urge to reply back in a way that definitely won't be considered as polite in any form, "I guess I'll be staying here this time...."
"That's nice!" The lady clasped her hands together, and when Seungcheol raised his brows at her excitement, blush bloomed on her cheeks in embaressment, "I mean we look like of same age. We can be friends."
"........"
If there were some background music playing at different occasions of his life, Seungcheol knew the warning type of one would have been playing now.
He needed to stop this before this gets too far, "I think I am older than you. We can't be friends."
The lady was taken aback, "What's your age?"
No personal information! No personal information!
"I feel like i have kept something on my stove." Seungcheol immediately flashed a smile of an apology, keeping the box of sweet back in her hands as he pretended to panick, "I am afraid i have to take my leave from here. It was nice meeting you."
And with that, Seungcheol immediately closed the door.
No, he was not going to take anything from a total stranger. Seungcheol had always believed if we were to take something from someone, we have to return it back as well. And Seungcheol had no will put out efforts in returning something back, and since he can't return it, he will not have the burden of taking something as well.
And friends?! Seungcheol took a deep breath, releasing it eventually. She gotta be kidding him. If Jeonghan found out, he'll literally let the hell break loose. Not like Seungcheol was interested in making any friends, that too the type who stalk him or something. He had his two idiots, he was fine with them.
If this was where it ended, Seungcheol would have been more than glad of it. But God and luck, both never worked from his side. The very next day, Seungcheol encountered the same girl waving him off from his balcony on his way to convience store.
And it was fair to say Seungcheol's mood was ruined for fucking no reason.
She was just trying to be friendly, Seungcheol knew that. But he wasn't used to friendliness. Anything that was given to him beyond any reason, even if that was kindness with pure intensions, was treated as nothing but a topic of disinterest from Seungcheol's side. Seungcheol wasn't used to niceness without any context, so it wasn't weird for him to find all that arrangements of small talks as nothing but annoying.
