The house, it was dark.

The officer's brows frowned as he realised how dark his house looked in comparison to the other ones that were in his neighbourhood. The lights were off, of the garden, balcony, backdoor, and even of the front door where he stood currently.

He didn't remember doing that himself, switching all the lights off, including of the garden as well. Honestly, he never does that, and he was sure his mind was serving him right.

Still, his thoughts refused to wonder too much about it when he pressed his password in the locker. The door opened with the clicking sound of the device, causing the officer to push it open and let his eyes wonder inside his own house.

The silence inside was spine chilling.

It was weird in some sense, like nothing was visible at that moment but everything felt suspiciously weird, almost as something was about to pounce on you the very next second. Was he overthinking? Maybe? It was already eight at night. He maybe was too tired that he had started hallucinating things as well.

"I was supposed to go back in evening," A strange voice spoke up all of sudden, stilling the officer in his place, "You could have been early one day, couldn't you?"

The lights went on within a flick of seconds, and suddenly everything became visible.

And there sat Yoon Jeonghan, right on front of his eyes, his arms spread on one side of the sofa and legs neatly kept over other. The way he smiled at him, his lips slightly curling upward as his eyes stared at the officer, it was nothing but dominantly dangerous in some way.

It was like Jeonghan was the predator who owned this place, and right now, the officer, he was his prey, who had accidentally stumbled in his area and now was doomed to death.

Within seconds, the smile from his face was gone, "I am kind of very pissed right now."

The officer's grip on his gun tightened, and even though he looked around to spot Jeonghan's other men, he couldn't find any of them. He couldn't possibly be here alone, could he? This will be very unlikely and stupid of him.

And as far as he knows, Jeonghan wasn't someone stupid.

"Remember me Mr. Shin?" Jeonghan raised his palm to greet him, and as he did, he elicited a sarcastic chuckle from the officer, "Who can even forget you Yoon?"

"Fair point." Jeonghan's legs were back to in their normal position, the business man leaning his back against the couch, "But aren't you curious as of why am I here?"

"I indeed am."

"Then how about you sit first?" The intruder hinted him to sit on the couch just in front of his sight, "Want some water?"

The officer, alerted that he was already, still walked towards the designated place, "No thanks. What if you have poisoned it and now are trying to lure me into killing myself?"

Jeonghan laughed, finding the idea hilariously funny, "I don't lure Shin. I grab the neck and twist it without giving a chance of second thought. I am at your home, sitting on your couch, offering you water, poisoning it is the last thing you should be concerned about here."

The officer raised his brows, amused yet somehow taken aback, "So you are here to kill me?"

"Sounds surprising?" Jeonghan replied the question with a question, "Or sounds like me? Like as you have said back in the prison?"

The officer ignored the prison part, knowing well it wasn't what had brought Jeonghan to him, "What are you here for Yoon?"

"To check your audacity. I heard it's getting out of hands nowadays." He stood up, his hands in the pocket, "The height you are flying from is definitely too high for a chicken Mr. Shin. Slow down. Honesty doesn't suit police officers."
