"Y/n, get out of my way." Homelander said. I dug my foot into the ground.
Behind me stood two students from Godolkin, the university for supes. Chaos had broken out on campus and everyone was fighting each other.
Marie, one of the supes behind me, had exploded the arm of her fellow classmate Cate in order to save her friend Jordan.
"Y/n, I don't want to fight you." Homelander said
"That's too bad." I held up my hand as a shadow surrounded Homelander. The shadow picked him up and flung him away as I went over to Marie who was checking on Jordan.
"The two of you need to get out of here now. I'll open a portal to get you somewhere safe." I said to them.
"Why are you doing this?" Marie asked me, knowing not too long ago I was at Homelander's side and I was apart of the seven.
"A friend of mine took a liking to you, and I believe in people who want to be good." I said looking at Marie. Her face softened, I could see tears welling up in her eyes.
"Now go, your friends should be on the other side of that portal." I said to the two of them.
Marie, helped her friend Jordan through the portal. I closed it behind them and as I turned around Homelander had yet to come back. I looked over to Cate who was on the ground bleeding out due to her arm getting exploded.
I walked over to Cate, who looked up at me and flinched. She believed that I was coming to finish her off, probably since I had just helped the person who exploded her arm.
I held out my hands as a bright light began to envelope them. The light made its way to where Cate's arm used to be and surrounded the space. Her arm slowly but surely grew back, causing more pain to me than Cate.
"Y-you healed me?" She stuttered, shocked that I had helped her.
"I'm not the monster Vought makes me out to be." I told her.
"You're going to pass out. You lost a lot of blood." I said to Cate, noticing her eyes were already starting to flutter shut. She nodded her head before losing consciousness.
"Y/n." I heard an angry Homelander say from behind me.
"Don't be too mad, I gave her arm back." I said as I stepped away from Cate.
"I told you I didn't want to fight and then you sent me flying hundreds of miles away from here." Homelander said through gritted teeth.
"I needed time." I said with a shrug. Homelander then seemed to have a realization as he began looking around.
"Where are they?" He asked me.
"Somewhere safe." I said.
"You can still come back to the Seven, it doesn't have to be like this." Homelander said to me.
"I thought that for a long time. I thought I could help you, that I could convince you to stop killing innocent people. But nothing ever changed, and eventually I had to accept that." I explained.
"We are two very different people. I don't think anything between us will ever be normal again." I said, tears stinging my eyes. I could see him struggling to keep his emotions at bay.
"Goodbye, John." I said. I watched as the strong look disappeared form Homelander's face, it looked like he had just gotten hit by a ton of bricks made to hurt a Supe.
"Y/n, no." He begged.
I conjured up some shadows as I used them to push myself off the ground and fly into the air.
"Y/n, please." Was the last thing I heard Homelander yell before he was out of my field of hearing.
