I sat in an interrogation room as Detective Gordon walked into the room. I crossed my legs as his eyes were drawn to my hands which were no longer restrained by cuffs.
"Why are you still here?" He asked me pointing to where my handcuffs once were.
"Because you wanted to question me." I said.
"The handcuffs were just uncomfortable." I said as I shrugged my shoulders.
Detective Gordon sat down in front of me and put some files on the table between the two of us. He opened up the files and they it was all information about Ed. As he did this I felt a pinching sensation on my stomach causing me to squirm slightly. Once it went away I turned my focus back to Gordon.
"I know you were close to him." Gordon said.
"If you have any information, please I need it." He said to me.
"I don't." I simply said.
"He hasn't contacted me since he started what he is doing." I said to him.
"I can give you my phone." I said.
"Really?" He asked.
I took out my phone and unlocked. I handed the phone over to Gordon and he began going through it. Once he went through it all, he gave it back to me.
"I'm sorry for doubting you." He said.
"It ok." I said.
"Do you have any idea why he would do this?" Gordon asked me.
"No, I wish I did." I said.
"I thought you two were close." Gordon said.
"I thought so too." I said.
"Well, that's all I have for you. If you get any information please come back and tell me." Gordon said as we both stood up.
"I'll try." I said with a weak smile.
We exited the room and I made my way out of the police station. I didn't want anyone following me from the police station so once I exited the building, I teleported closer to my home. While I was passing an alleyway an arm grabbed me and pulled me into the dark alleyway.
I got shoved against a wall and cornered. It was Ed.
"Did you tell him anything?" He asked as he tried to stand over me menacingly.
"You went silent about four days ago to everyone including me. What would I have to tell?" I asked him.
"You knew what was happening to me which means you probably picked up on what I was planning. So did you tell him anything?" Ed asked me.
"No." I said before starting to walk away.
"Y/n, wait." He said as he came after me.
"No, because my interrogation seems to be all that you care about. So, I'll be on my way." I said angrily.
He grabbed my wrist once again causing me to turn to him. His face had softened now, and he was looking into my eyes.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"And I'm sorry that your tricks don't work on me." I said as I snatched my arm away from him.
I began walking away again as he stood there in shock. A few weeks ago he had started experimenting with using peoples weaknesses against them to get what he wanted. I never wanted to be able to fall apart like that so I kept myself closed off to everyone, even someone I had feelings for.
"That should've worked." He said as he walked closely behind me on the sidewalk.
"Wow, I'm just a science experiment. That's nice to know." I said.
"You always fall for the people closest to you telling you sorry genuinely." He said.
"That wasn't genuine." I said with a frown.
All of a sudden I stopped, a sharp pain began coming from my stomach. I felt my eyes widened from the pain. I looked down and I was beginning to bleed from my stomach.
"Y/n!" I heard Ed yell. He quickly ran up beside me.
"What's happening?" He asked as he wrapped his arm around my back to keep me stable.
"I—I don't know." I said, the pain was causing me to stutter. I could feel tears fall from my eyes because whatever was happening was so painful.
"I'm going to pick you up." Ed warned me.
He picked me up and I clung to his neck. I teleported the two of us to my apartment. Ed quickly took me to my bed and laid me down. Blood continued to pour out of my stomach, I had no clue what to do.
So, I put my hand over my stomach to find what was causing this to happen. I then used my magic to pull out the device that had been cutting my stomach from the inside.
"What the hell?" I muttered under my breath.
"What is that?" Ed asked me worried. His Riddler persona was now completely gone and he was now visibly worried about me.
"I don't know." I said as I began to feel faint.
"Y/n, please. Stay with me." Ed begged.
"I'll be fine." I said. Those were my last three words to him before passing out completely. The pain were draining me of my energy and I just needed some sleep so my body could heal itself.
When I woke up, I found Ed sitting patiently next to my bed. He looked pale and nervous before noticing I was awake. When he realized I was awake he scrambled to my side.
"Hey, are you ok?" He asked me.
"Well, I'm alive." I said as I sat up slowly. I gritted my teeth as I did so because my wound had not completely healed yet.
"What was that?" He asked me.
"I don't know, but whoever put it on me did so in the police station." I said.
"On you?" Ed asked.
"When Gordon was interrogating me I felt a pinch of my stomach. It must of been the device going in." I said.
"Do you think the station did it?" He asked me.
"I would be surprised if they did, I didn't think they had such advanced technology." I said.
