CHAPTER 26: Oxygen

*that same day*
26th March 2023

jude and i laugh as we walk down the corridor of the studio

"what and he couldn't get it in?" i laughed

"bukayo said it was because the table was slanted.. but we just said it was because he couldn't actually aim it into the cup" jude laughed

"aw, bukayo" i laughed making a face "hes the sweetest person on earth i can't deal with him" i said honestly as we walked into the room i had been put in

"he is a good lad" jude nodded his head "too good for his own good." he added making me pout my lips
"such a sweet soul, i'm glad you introduced us" i said honestly and he nodded as he threw himself down on the couch

"i'm glad i did" he smiled at me "you two seem to be good friends already" he smiled "and now you have tolami" he added and i nodded with a smile getting set up.

once i was set up i went to the email jade sent me with the demo of the song she thought would be good for my sample.

i listened to it bobbing my head

i like it, needs a few changes here and there but my producer and i can figure it out.
i also sent this to my producer and he loved it, also agreed with me saying they needed to be a few changes.

but i used this as my demo to write the song.

"i'm just gonna go into the recording booth" i pointed to the booth and jude nodded with a smile as he drank his iced coffee "recording some vocals" i smiled at him taking my phone

"jude just press play on the track please" i point at the computer once i was in the booth and putting my headphones on. and he did exactly as i said.

i recorded the vocals i had already recorded this morning on my phone... and then i just went with the melody of the track and sang whatever came to my mind

"you can't handle none of this na na

you're gonna have to try a little harderrrr"

"takes a real one to hold me down" i sang softly

"i got plans tonight and you ain't part of them

know it's ladies night shout to all of them
put your ones up in the sky IF YOU AAAAA" i hit a high note and jump straight in to the chorus that i sample from missy

i sang the chorus again perfectly so it can be used throughout the track when it's edited and produced

i sang the song again, from beginning to end, adding a few extra bits here and there.
and then sang it another two times to get the perfect take.

i think i saw jude record me on his phone a couple of times but i could be wrong.

and then when i felt it was good enough i swapped tracks
to play the instrumental for a song that i have already written called 'Nobody Like You'.
it is all written, just literally needs to be recorded which i am going to do now while i have the time.

if i am being honest i've tried to hold off on this song and not record it official because this song hurts me a lot.
but, i desperately want it on my album, which means i NEED to record it.
it's just the most personal song i've probably ever recorded, so i'm nervous as it means a lot to me.
