Chapter Forty: Humanity's Strongest Team!

[Flashback]

Tsukasa rushes towards the cave. Taiju steps into the way of the entrance of the cave with his arms spread out. He was determined to stop Tsukasa no matter what, even if he died.

"No you don't! I won't let you get near Senku!" Taiju yells. Tsukasa looks up in shock. He stares up as a paper airplane is flying overhead. Everyone looks up, stopping the battle. Chrysi and Mercury ran into the battle from one side while Kimi ran into the battle from off to the side of them. They look up in shock and surprise at the airplane.

"The famous airplane... We've made it just in time, Mercury!" Chrysi exclaims.

"Hell yeah, I knew we could do it!" Mercury cheers.

"Hey, Tsukasa! This isn't a battle between strength and science! Because science actually is strength!" Senku exclaims.

[Light Flashes]

"Tsukasa!" Hikari yells, "I'm ready to tell you. What it was I saw when I looked at you that day, back then." Tsukasa looks at her.

[Light Flashes]

Hikari steps forward and she holds out her hands with one finger up and an outstretched hand with the other. Taiju tries to stop her but she shakes her head. She stops in front of Tsukasa.

"Tsukasa, you once asked if we could be friends before we were petrified. I will only offer my hand in friendship one time. You either take it and hear me out, or we drag this out." Hikari explains.

[Light Flashes]

"You said so yourself... A little boy who just wants to find sea shells for his little sister who loves the Little Mermaid to make his other sister smile again." Hikari explains, "I saw an angry, sad little boy lashing out. The day of the petrification, you were told a new doctor took your sister's case."

[Light Flashes]

"Hm... Tsukasa, I can give you Mirai back. Healthy and alive." Hikari states. Tsukasa's eyes widened in shock. Tsukasa looks down at Chrysi.

"Uncle Tsukasa, but this has to stop." Chrysi states.

"Uncle..." Tsukasa breathes out. Kimi runs over and she places her hand on Chrysi's shoulder.

[Light Flashes]

Hikari holds out her hand again.

"Tsukasa, what do you say?" Hikari asks.

"Are these just your terms?" Tsukasa asks.

"We'll do our best to revive your sister. And in exchange, I'm asking for a cease-fire." Senku states.

"And why should I believe this isn't a bunch of lies?" Tsukasa asks.

"All you have is our word. We never lie about science. Is that not enough?" Senku explains, "And Hikari's hand in friendship. Something you wanted from the start didn't you?" Hikari looks at Tsukasa.

"Tsu, I want her back too. If there's even a chance, like Chrysi said... we owe it to Mirai to try." Kimi pleads. Tsukasa takes a moment and takes a deep breath.

"No, that's plenty. It's enough." Tsukasa states before he takes Hikari's hand. Everyone cheers.

[Light Flashes]

They find Mirai after hours of digging and blowing up the area. Tsukasa and Kimi stare down at Mirai's stone statue. Tsukasa gets tears in his eyes. Kimi places her hand on his shoulder.

"Mirai..." Tsukasa breathes out with tears in his eyes.

"We're going to wake you up." Kimi cries out.
