Chapter Twenty-Four: The Age Of Energy!

They draw out the steps.

"Granted, this'll be more like a regular phone, not necessarily the smart kind." Senku explains.

"We can do this! The sulfa drug was a hell of a lot of work, but we made that happen, didn't we?" Chrome exclaims.

"No offense, guys, but I don't think you realize what he's saying. This road map's full of things that are impossible to get." Gen states.

"It sounds scary." Kimi squeaks. Hikari and Senku start chuckling together.

"Nothing is impossible, Gen." Senku says.

"No matter how far off the goal may seem, if you follow the steps, you'll get there as Senku says ten billion percent of the time!" Hikari adds with a grin.

"That's how science works." Senku explains and Hikari giggles.

"Oh..." Kimi whispers.

"Now we'll only have a few months to finish it." Hikari asks.

"Hm? Why do you say that?" Kohaku asks.

"Because that's when Tsukasa's assault is gonna start." Hikari explains. It is late September now. Just a few more months and Hikari and Senku will turn seventeen. Senku's birthday was the 4th of the year, but Hikari's was the first. She was a New Years Baby.

"That sound about right, mentalist?" Senku asks.

"Let me think. If I put myself in Tsukasa's brain..." Gen states and closes his eyes. Hikari stares at him as he even gets the evil darkness feeling. Hikari was surprised, impressed and a little scared. Kimi blinks confused.

"I think he'd say 'We're in total control of the revival fluid so as the time passes, our manpower grows. Yes. But our main foes are Senku and Hikari. If we give him too much time, he'll find a way to mass-produce gunpowder'." Gen explains.

"You're really cool, but really terrifying that you can pull off my brother like that. Did you just freaking mimic him too?" Kimi asks.

"Jeez... Gen you're still scary with that." Asahi states as Kohaku was in attack defense mode but was stopped by Cinder who was giggling cutely.

"It's like he's here. Your imitation's dead on." Senku mutters.

"Even I'm a little scared." Hikari states.

[Meanwhile]

"We'll need to take every precaution to ensure that we defeat Senku. But we can't let ourselves forget that preparing for winter is going to take a good deal of manpower. Also, if I understand your report correctly, this 'Kingdom of Science' is basically a floating fortress." Tsukasa states.

"That's right. It's surrounded by a lake that mostly freezes over the winter. If they bolster their defenses, it will be difficult to attack, and we are ill-prepared for a proper siege." Hyoga responds.

[Meanwhile]

"I have a question. So, like, once Tsukasa finds out you're both still alive, won't Taiju and Yuzuriha be in danger?" Chrome states.

"A guy like him would kill them, right?" Kohaku asks. Hikari thinks about it and shakes her head.

"Nah. That won't be an issue. They are more useful as potential hostages. So killing them would be a waste." Senku explains.

"Plus Tsukasa won't know if I revived Senku with them present or not. For all he knows, I could have sent Taiju and Yuzu away before reviving him." Hikari explains.

[Meanwhile]

"Is it safe to allow Taiju and Yuzuriha to roam around freely?" Hyoga asks.

"They'll be monitored. But let's continue interacting with them as we've been doing. We can't have them getting suspicious. Even if those two do turn out to be spies, in this world, there's no way for them to quickly relay information. No, what I think is a more pressing concern... is a pre-emptive attack from the enemy." Tsukasa states.
