Chapter Forty-Five: New World Map!

Senku chuckles as he holds onto the lever that Chrome was going to pull earlier. He looks at Ryusui and Chrome. They look down at the village as they approach.

"Been so long since I've seen this place, I'm practically tearing up." Senku confirms.

"Haha! Magnificent! They've built such a beautiful little village despite being in this primitive stone world. The sea, the mountains, this village - I want it all!" Ryusui demands.

"Dude, you can't have our home. This place is ours." Chrome responds. Chrome throws a rope down and Hikari looks up at them. Senku slowly guides them down.

"So all those people down there, they're like Chrome and Kohaku right? Not from the 21st Century like you, Hikari and I are, I mean." Ryusui inquires.

"Technically Asahi's from your time. And the kids are from 25 years in the future." Senku responds, "But yeah, Descendants of a lucky handful of people who avoided the petrification - a whole band of rare characters."

"I see. They survived this long." Ryusui breathes out. Ryusui thinks about it and the scenes of the past, of them turning to stone are shown.

"But if you and Hikari were the ones who developed the revival fluid, how did you and Hikari break out of the stone, Senku?" Ryusui asks.

"I don't know all of the details, but he counted a ton while Hikari recited books and thoughts of her friendships." Chrome explains, "Senku kept the time and never lost consciousness. Hikari said every time she nearly dozed off, she would think of Senku and how happy he made her. It'd renew her and wake her. She knew the day he broke free, he'd free her and somehow, she was freed a minute after he was, according to Senku. They were freed after continuous exposure to nitric acid." They touch down safely and when they climb out of the basket, Hikari tackles Senku and hugs him. Senku returned her hug before she surprised him with a kiss. He lets her kiss him for a few moments before she breaks the kiss.

"Did you have any trouble?" Hikari asks.

"A little bit, but nothing we couldn't handle." Senku explains. Senku and Hikari get surrounded by all the kids and elderly. They laugh and Senku smiles at them.

"Sup?" Senku asks.

"Senku, you wanna come play with us?" One of the kids asks.

"Sure, later." Senku responds.

"Hey, Ryusui." Ukyo calls out, walking over with Chiyo and Kohaku.

"Come. We'll show you around Ishigami Village." Kohaku adds and they lead him away, "Senku and Hikari eventually won us all over to help deal with Tsukasa, who had a literal army on his side. As a result, they founded the aptly named 'Kingdom of Science', with Hikari as our somewhat Queen."

"Long live our queen." Asahi jokes. Chiyo snorts and Ukyo tries not to laugh.

"Don't let Kari hear you call her that." Chiyo explains.

"And if I understand, now they're trying to save this former enemy of theirs. That right?" Ryusui asks.

"Uh-huh. And there's only one way to do that." Ukyo adds.

"Senku and Hikari are going to the source of the light. The other side of the world." Chiyo continues.

"They're starting with Tsukasa, but the ultimate goal is to revive all of humanity, if I recall. Then there's something you guys are gonna need. A captain to steer your ship." Ryusui exclaims, "So, in other words, you want my navigational help no matter the cost! Am I wrong?" He raced up into the observatory within a blink of an eye.

"It's like I blinked and he was up there." Ukyo mutters.

"He's fast when he's motivated." Ava explains.
