The next 2 weeks went about the same, school, eat, sleep, repeat, they'd trained Bear every day. She wasn't eating as much so she could pay for Bear's food, now he was pretty much all trained they'd have to work on it for a bit longer but thankfully Bear was smart, and it didn't take long.
"Are you the girl that sang that beautiful song in the competition about a month ago?" a man asked, he was in a grey suit with a blue tie. "The one that the audience loved but the judges weren't too keen on it."
"I-I need more detail." She said.
"They said you were too nervous and inexperienced." The man said.
"Y-yeah, why?" she asked, quietly so she wouldn't awake her sleeping sisters.
"You were brilliant, you have great potential and we love you voice, you sang so beautifully and don't even get me started on the piece" the man complimented. "Well, I've been looking for you for since then, I think you'd make a great singer and with a bit of training, you could hit big with the band we're forming, what do you say?"
"I, sure, why me though?" she asked.
"What do you mean?"
"W-well, you could have chosen so many better people more experienced and way less nervous then me." She explained.
"Well, you can't prove yourself without the chance." The man answered. "You are like a rough diamond, once polished you will shine."
She smiled from her hood, it felt good to be recognised and deemed 'worthy'.
"We'll be ready for you tomorrow, meet me here tomorrow, same time." The man said.
She nodded and he left.
It felt good to know someone thought she was 'talented', she had been questioning why she existed, she was waiting until she starved to death.
Now, she wanted to live, she wanted to see what would happen next.
"Who he?" Ji-A asked as she rubbed her eyes.
"He changed everything with a few sentences." She said.
"How did he change everything?" Soo-Min asked groggily. "I wasn't listening."
"He offered me a job that could potentially pay for food for all of us and a place to stay." She explained.
"Even you?" Soo-Min asked.
"Even me." She said.
"You accepted it, right?" Soo-Min asked.
"Of course, I wouldn't forgive myself if I didn't" she said.
She wouldn't be alive to never forgive herself.
"When do you start?" Soo-Min asked.
"Well, he said to be here same time tomorrow, so I guess tomorrow." She answered.
"What day is tomorrow?" Ji-A asked.
"Sunday." Soo-Min answered.
Bear -who was laying half on her lap half off- stretched, waking himself up before drinking from the tray of water Soo-Min had poured.
Soo-Min poured Bear food as she fed Min-Seo.
They kept all their things in a bag they'd bought with the spare change, so there were 3 bags, the bag full of their things, Y/n's school bag and the schoolbag Soo-Min and Ji-A shared.
Ji-A crawled out from her hoodie and sat on her lap.
Min-Seo babbled as she waved her chubby little arms in Bear's direction.
