She could hear the steady beeping of the heart monitor, she rubbed her eyes as her came into focus.
She was in the hospital, it looked about 10pm, it was nearly pitch-black outside, she could see Namjoon sitting in a chair beside her bed.
"Hyung, you coming?" a boy with big, dark brown eyes said.
"I think she's awake." Namjoon said.
"She's awake?" a doctor asked as he turned on the lights, blinding her.
She blinked hard before rubbing her eyes again and letting her eyes adjust to the light.
"Curl your left hand into a fist." The doctor told her.
She did as he asked, easily curling her left hand into a fist.
"Now your right." He said.
She curled her right hand just as easily, she remembered learning about the brain is school one day.
Good to know she didn't have any brain damage.
The doctor scribbled on his clip board before lifting his head.
"Are you in any pain?" the doctor asked her.
"M-my side." She answered, pausing to let out a cough. "A-and a h-headache."
The doctor nodded, scribbling on his clip board before slipping it back into the slot at the end of her bed.
The doctor left the room, walking down the hallway.
"Unnie!" Soo-Min and Ji-A exclaimed as they came running into the room with Bear.
She sat up, helping Soo-Min and Ji-A up onto the bed with a smile as they hugged her tight.
Bear stood on his back legs with his front legs over hers.
She petted Bear after, she could swear he smiled at her, after all, couldn't dogs smile too?
"I was so worried!" Soo-Min said.
"I'm okay, I promise." She promised.
Ji-A and Soo-Min sat at the end of her bed, Bear climbed up onto her bed, demanding cuddles.
The doctor came back in with a few boxes of pills.
"Okay, so, your recovery will be easiest if you take the anxiety pills, you don't have to." The doctor began as he set the boxes and a glass of water on the table beside her bed. "These are for your headache, 1 per 3 hours, and these painkillers are for your side, same, 1 per 3 hours. The anxiety pills" the doctor pointed to a box of pills sperate to the other two boxes stacked on top of each other. "1 per hour."
"W-w-what is the pain in my side from?" she asked nervously.
"Bullets." The doctor answered, leaving the room.
That was mysterious.
All the tubes and wires attached to her, and different things were starting to get annoying.
. . .
She woke up at about 8 in the morning to people talking outside.
She rubbed her eyes, blinking hard.
She groaned as the pain in her side returned, she sat up so she could take the painkiller.
She washed the pill down with the water, resisting the huge urge to rub her stitches. She took an anxiety pill to wash away the nerves and anxiety.
Namjoon, Bang Si-hyuk, Bear, Soo-Min, Ji-A and Min-Seo came into the room when they noticed her awake.
