She sighed, trying to breathe out the nerves as anxiety filled her head.

Her name had been called.

The judges were ready for her.

It shouldn't have been a big deal, no one would want her anyways.

She was simply proving to her sisters that anything was possible as long as you try.

She stepped to the mic, the judges nodded, she began to sing, not the lullaby but a song her mum used to sing.

Her mum's own song, that she wrote, that she sang, that she taught her daughter.

Her voice was shaky with nerves as she sang, thanks to her 'beautiful voice' she was able to hit even the highest note without a problem, her nerves and anxiety filled her words, she fiddled with her fingers as she stood on her tippy toes to reach the mic.

No one thought she'd succeed so no one bothered to lower the mic.

She could see shocked faces, she could see and hear the judges scribbling on their notepads.

Did they like her?

Was the song not good enough?

Was she not good enough?

Then she spotted it.

The cameras.

She studied the scene, then she spotted signs in the room.

'ON AIR'

'LIVE TELEVISION'

This was on live television.

She sang the last note, lingering before finished.

The crowd clapped, not many, more than she had expected.

"It was beautiful but you were really nervous, the nerves took away from the song." The first judge said.

"I agree, it was a beautiful piece, I've never heard anything like it, but the nerves really took away from the song." The second judge said.

"I hated it. It was shaky and the nerves could be felt by anyone from miles away." The third judge criticized.

"Well, you were really nervous, I could feel it, anyone and everyone could feel and see it, but the song was beautiful, I've never heard it before. But the nerves and anxiety, the nervous habits, the way you stood and your lack of experience really took away from the song. I'm sorry but I doubt you'll move on in the competition." The head judge told her.

"I don't see her getting anywhere at all." The third judge said.

She walked back to the side where her sisters stood.

"That song, it felt familiar." Soo-Min said.

"It was Mother's." she told Soo-Min.

"Come on, let's go." She said, wanting to get away from the embarrassment.

She didn't know why she did it.

She knew she wouldn't get anywhere in the competition.

She knew she'd just be disappointed even though it was highly expected.

"It worth a try." Ji-A said.

"Anything is possible as long as you try." Soo-Min reminded her, using Y/n's own words.

She sighed as she let out a laugh, it was something she hadn't done in over a decade.

Then it hit her.
