Chapter Twenty-Seven

The next morning, everyone woke up with the sun and cleaned up before heading back to school. Auryn flew back out but put away her wings before everyone else made their way out. They then walked back together grinning and joking. Auryn holding Brandt's hand and chatting with Isla.

One of the gym teachers greeted them as they appeared in the school field. He directed them to not return to their classes and instead they had an hour to pack everything they needed, eat breakfast, and get on the bus.

It was time to go to the tournament.

Everyone split up, and thankfully the school was in class so there was no one to run into and chat. If Auryn was stopped by Anna she was sure that she would miss the bus and that thought made her hurry even faster to her room. The girls in the group laughed at her but she told her the thought and that made them all rush too.

She managed to pack everything she needed and then using her magic sent the rest of her stuff back to her room in Other Realm. There was a feeling that she would not be returning to this room and that thought made her sad. So she made sure to send back everything she still wanted. Some stuff she decided to leave behind for Anna and some she saved for Brandt. Auryn wanted to leave some notes, but she would have to consider that later.

She grabbed some of her own food and brought it down to eat in the lobby where everyone else looked like they had stopped by the cafeteria to find something to munch on.

Auryn was the last one there and it made her stomach flip to see that they had started loading luggage onto the bus. She spent a little too much time sending her things back to Other Realm, even though she really needed to do it.

Brandt appeared and grabbed Auryn's bags from her and brought them over to the pile for her. She gave him a look but he didn't even give her time to protest about it.

"We are sitting on the bus together," Brandt told her and she rolled her eyes.

Isla saw the interaction and also rolled her eyes.

On the bus, everyone seemed to finish their quick breakfasts as they left the school. Auryn had no idea where they were going, but she was excited. Brandt let her sit in the isle seat so that she could talk to Isla on the way there. But she also kind of wanted to watch out the window.

On the way to the tournament everyone changed their clothes in the small bathroom at the back of the bus. They were all given some clothes that looked like their school uniforms to wear on top of their casual clothes. The outfits everyone changed into to arrive were almost an opposite of what they wore at school. The pants were black and the shirts were the dark green plaid. Auryn's wasn't a button up top, it was more of a nice blouse and it was rather baggy while the pants were tighter.

Isla looked normal because her shirt was tighter and her pants were baggier. Auryn didn't know why they had different fittings but maybe there was a mistake in there somewhere.

Sometime around lunch, they pulled down a driveway and the whole bus went quiet. Everyone looked out the windows at the long driveway and towards the large mansion at the end. And the crowd of people in front of it.

It seemed like every bus had dropped off every school around the same time.

When it stopped, the teacher that had came with them got up and faced the team, "I don't like speeches so we'll keep this short. Keep it in your pants and don't start any fights. We will be on our best behaviours and we will beat everyone by following the rules."

She gave a nod then asked the bus driver to open the door. Levi went first, with Vince hot on his heels. Everyone filed out and Auryn held back with Isla and Brandt. Isla went out first, then Brandt, and finally Auryn. All the schools stood outside as if waiting for something and Brandt wouldn't let Auryn walk anywhere. She glared at him and he snatched up her hand, "I need to make sure you are okay, please just let me."
