Chapter 18

Y/N'S POV

No, I didn't leave them high and dry.

I hope...

The reason why I said what I said wasn't only because I was pissed off. Don't get me wrong, I'm REALLY frustrated with Lloyd and his fucking daddy issues that are preventing him from saving people, but the other reason why I snapped at him like that was to piss him off.

Anger is a fundamental part of achieving Oni form. If his Oni power showed through when he first found out I was an Oni, his Oni power should show through if he's pissed at me after what I said.

I went back to the monastery and ransacked the scroll room, looking for any information about the Oni and specifically, the three Oni warlords. I only found a limited number of scrolls written by Quanish the Elder. Everyone knows that Quanish was a fool... The most I found from his scrolls was a bunch of scribbles and diagrams of the same three masks. I didn't find out anything I don't already know.

I didn't sleep and I spent hours studying these scrolls. I was running on like five cups of coffee and a few energy drinks. At this point, my head was against the desk and throbbing from frustration and anger. I slammed my glowing purple fist against the table and sighed.

"Lloyd better have found his Oni form," I groaned and sat up. "After what I said, surely his Oni power must've shown through. Even a purple spark! Anything!" I noticed something glisten in the corner of my eye. I shifted my head to the purple light source. "A scroll?" I muttered.

I wandered over to a lonely scroll on the shelf. Its edges were white but when I opened it, it was painted black with purple details. The glow slowly faded and it came from the names of the three Oni warlords. "Argh! I know this already!" I threw the scroll onto the table and it rolled out perfectly across the length of the mahogany table. I stepped over to the scroll and noticed paragraphs worth of information on the warlords.

The scroll had no author, and the scroll was written in the language of the Oni.

My first language.

I haven't seen it in years, however reading it uncovered my long lost knowledge from the depths of my mind. I traced my fingers along the words as I began to read. "The three Oni masks came from three siblings - the three Oni warlords..." I translated. I tapped my finger on the word "siblings".

Holy shit. Ha-eed is my uncle??

Is that why he called me Decer? He knows that I'm Decer's daughter?

What about Venge? Where's Venge?

I quickly read on. So Venge is the oldest, then my mum, then Ha-eed. "...they were unstoppable warlords and proved themselves worthy to their leader, The Omega. For years they were seen as unstoppable beings with no weakness, however that was until the First Spinjitzu Master - also known as the man born of both worlds - freed the Oni from The Omega's reign, and took them to Ninjago. One of these Oni was Decer, who deceived her leader. Venge and Ha-eed stayed loyal to The Omega, despite him being a tyrant and a leader who brought terror to the once peaceful Oni citizens and also brought back the war with the Dragons after decades of peace.

The Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu created by the First Spinjitzu Master, were proven to weaken the Oni, as well as the power of creation. Although it can weaken the Oni, it cannot kill them."

I groaned in frustration, "That's what I've been trying to tell Lloyd!!"

"Their strengths lie within their names. Venge is strongest when he is thirsty for vengeance or others are corrupted by revenge; Decer is strongest when she desires to use her enhanced shapeshifting ability to trick others for the purpose of suffering; Ha-eed is strongest when he inflicts hatred towards oneself and cause despair and chaos within others.

They each owned an Oni Mask which enhanced these powers, and made them stronger. The three masks together, can create an indestructible force. These Oni warlords can only be destroyed by a stronger force of evil or destruction.

Elemental energy cannot be used as defence against the warlords. It only makes them grow in power. They channel the energy and absorb it, making them stronger. Descendants of the warlords inherit this power, making them stronger than the warlords themselves."

I rapidly scooped the scroll from the table and rushed out to the courtyard. "I have to warn the others!" I exclaimed to myself. I ran to The Bounty and set course to Lloyd's location before slamming the autopilot button. As the Bounty continued flying, I continued studying the scroll and re-read the information multiple times to have it engraved into my brain.

Soon enough, the Bounty stopped and lowered over the Library of Domu. I grabbed the scroll and slid down the chain leading to the anchor. I hopped off and ran to the entrance, muttering, "I better not be too late." There were people running out in a panicking manner. I barged past them and finally got through the double doors.

I didn't know that this library was so big. However, it didn't take me long to figure out where the ninja could be. I sprinted along the main hallway, passing multiple rows of shelves. I bit my lip at the despair of Cole's scream which got louder the closer I got. "STOP! PLEASE! YOU'RE WRONG!"

I finally got to the row where Cole was, but I was too late. He was gone and Ha-eed was reduced to black smoke. My hands were on my knees as I was panting, trying to catch my breath as a result of running through this large library. I heard a set of footsteps behind my while I fixed my posture.

"Y/n?" Nya spoke. I turned around and was met with a pair of green eyes, and a pair of hazel ones.

"Where's Jay?" I asked.

"He was with Cole," Nya answered.

I glanced at the place where Cole was taken to the Realm of Oni and Dragons and frowned. "That means... That means Ha-eed took them. Cole was here..."

"As soon as we heard Jay scream we came here as fast as we could," Nya said, her voice quivering slightly.

"Shit... Lloyd, did you achieve your Oni Form?"

Lloyd stayed silent, and slowly shook his head while avoiding eye contact with me.

"Did anything I said in the Dojo at least made you a bit mad?"

He sent a piercing glare at me, his eyebrows knitted close together. "You were tricking me into achieving my Oni From?!"

"How else was I supposed to get you to help you achieve it?!"

"I said I didn't want to do it, didn't I?"

"And look what happened!!"

"Oh no, don't blame me for this! You were the one who left us high and dry!"

"Yeah, because of your stubborn ass! I came back, didn't I?" I threw the scroll at Lloyd. He caught it. "I also came back with information. I found that scroll at the monastery. I thought you might want to read it."

Lloyd inspected the scroll before rolling it out.

"Elemental power does not work. It only strengthens the Oni. I came here to warn you, but it looks like I'm too late. Jay and Cole probably tried fighting back with their powers. Maybe if you let me teach you Oni From in the first place, this could've been prevented."

Nya was looking over his shoulder, also reading the information. Lloyd looked up at me.

"You're Ha-eed's niece?"
