Jennie stood on the steps of Gringotts, despondent.
It had been some time and Roseanne had successfully dodged every attempt for Jennie to explain herself about the Amelie situation. Of course, she remained furious, as evidenced by the fact Jennie had to pick her clothes out of the rose bushes underneath their window that morning.
Pregnancy hormones and a part-Veela definitely were not something to trifle with.
Jennie could throttle Bill.
The worst thing was that now her final exams were over and she was waiting to hear back about her job, there was absolutely nothing to distract her from the frustration of things being terrible with Roseanne.
Jennie kicked at the marble steps, irritated.
She was waiting for Roseanne to finish work so they could go to another pregnancy check up with Dr Liam. Roseanne hadn’t invited her, of course, still livid with the brunette. But Jennie was not about to miss a check up to make sure Roseanne and the baby were okay.
“Trouble in paradise?” the familiar voice of Lisa rang out.
Jennie glanced up and saw the athletic redhead bounding over to her.
“Hey, Lisa,” Jennie greeted glumly.
She hadn’t caught up with Lisa for a while, but wasn’t thrilled about seeing her while she was awaiting the latest tense showdown with Angry Roseanne.
“Bambam told me that Roseanne has been a bit temperamental with you lately,” Lisa said, cocking her head to one side sympathetically.
“’Temperamental’ is an understatement,” Jennie replied darkly, “Try ‘extremely hormonal and out for blood.’ I can’t wait ‘til this pregnancy is over.”
“Oh, well I suppose that’s what you get for shacking up with a pregnant Veela,” Lisa shrugged, “Speaking of Veela… I haven’t really caught up with you since the Sophie thing.”
“Oh, yeah,” Jennie replied in interest, finally distracted from her own relationship woes, “Roseanne said she had gone back to France so I assumed nothing more had happened.”
Jennie had been meaning to talk to Lisa about it all. She’d worried that Lisa wouldn’t be dealing with the sudden epiphany.
“Well.. Nothing more happened with her…” Lisa said shyly, rubbing the back of her neck, “But I have started seeing a woman.. One we both know…”
“Jisoo?!” Jennie asked excitedly. She had long suspected there was some kind of sexual tension between the two friends.
“No!” Lisa yelped, “Why does everyone always guess Jisoo?! Anyway, promise me you won’t be upset?”
“Honestly, unless it was Roseanne, it won’t make me upset,” Jennie said genuinely.
“Oh, well, good,” Lisa said nervously, “Because I asked her to come and meet me here.”
“Right, well, Roseanne's coming this way, and we have to go to a Healer’s appointment,” Jennie replied, nodding up the steps at the blonde just exiting the bank as she spoke.
“It’s Amelie,” Lisa said breathlessly, “We ran into each other, got to talking and just hit it off!”
“And she’s coming here?!” Jennie panicked, stressing as Roseanne drew closer to them.
“Yeah, are you mad that I’m dating her?” Lisa asked, frowning, “I thought that you two decided you were better off as friends?”
“We are,” Jennie tried to explain rapidly, “It’s just— Hello, Roseanne!”
