"...I like you but"

Iraa stiffened a bit, because he said it so suddenly which caught her by suprise, she obviously knew it. Vedang sensed her stiffness and shifted towards now looking at her. They were facing eachother.

"I..I like you..more than I thought and more than you can ever imagine. I dont know how..you know I.. I'm not very good with words so.." he looked down feeling guilty.

Iraa smiled and made him look at her. "You know..your efforts mean more to me. I know you are trying..and I can understand " she whispered softly.

"I know but..I'm afraid.." He said, his eyes showing worry. "afraid? of what?" she asked moving her hands to hold his.

"Afraid that..I might end up hurting you"

She didn't say anything and actioned him to get up. "What?" "Let's go out"

They quietly left the room and went to the terrace of the villa, since going downstairs was risky and it was closer.

Under the vast, starlit sky of Manali, Vedang and Iraa stood on the terrace of the villa.

The cool mountain breeze gently ruffled Iraa's hair, and she could smell the faint scent of pine and snow.

Vedang stood beside her, his hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket, an unusual tension in his posture.

He seemed distant, as if lost in his own thoughts. Iraa noticed his unease and turned to face him.

Iraa felt a rush of warmth and surprise. She finally took a deep breath and asked him again "Why are you so scared?"

Vedang rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous habit she had come to recognize. "Because I’m not like you, Iraa. You’re this bright, happy, and goofy person. And I'm...

..well, I’m cold, and sometimes too focused on my work. I'm worried about my personality. I'm not always the easiest person to be around. I'm reserved, and sometimes I come off as distant or aloof. What if that drives a wedge between us? I’m worried that my nature will overshadow your light."

Iraa stepped closer to him, her hand reaching out to gently touch his arm. "Vedang, I know you. And jitna maine tumhe jana hai..You're not as cold as you think. You care more than you let on."

He sighed, his shoulders relaxing a bit. "It's just... I'm not used to these feelings. I've always been focused on my career, on being the best at what I do. But with you, it's different. I don't want to lose you because I couldn't balance my life."

Iraa reached up, cupping his face in her hands. "Vedang, we'll find that balance together. I'm here for you, and I don't want to take a step back thinking about things which might now even happen."

He closed his eyes, leaning into her touch. "You make it sound so easy. But what if I mess up? What if I can't give you the time and attention you deserve?"

"Vedang," Iraa said softly, "every relationship has its challenges. It's not about never making mistakes; it's about learning from them and growing together. We'll have our ups and downs, but we’ll face them together."

".... You know I'm scared too, after my last relationship i never thought I would ever like someone..but since the moment you came, I cannot explain it. But what I'm trying to say is we can work through things together"

Vedang's eyes softened as he looked at her, her words slowly breaking down his fears. "You make it sound so simple."

"It is simple, Vedang," Iraa said, smiling warmly. "It’s about trying. We both have our quirks, our flaws. But if we care about each other, we’ll make it work. ..and the fact that tum abhi se itne worried ho..I find your dedication admirable, Vedang."

Vedang took her hands in his, his touch warm and reassuring. "You really believe that?"

"Yes, I do," Iraa replied confidently. "And you know what? I think your serious side and my goofy side will balance each other perfectly."

Vedang chuckled, a sound that sent a pleasant shiver down Iraa's spine. "I guess I can be the stern one to keep you in check."

"yess" Iraa said with a grin.

He lifted her hands to his lips, pressing a soft kiss on her knuckles. "Thank you, Iraa. For understanding. For being you."

Iraa pulled back slightly, looking up into his eyes. " And Mr Suryavanshi, everyone has their moments. No one is perfect. You don’t have to be this ideal version of yourself all the time. I like you for who you are, even with your flaws."

He opened his eyes, gazing at her with a mix of admiration and gratitude. "How did I get so lucky to have you in my life?"

Iraa smiled, her eyes twinkling with affection. "Mei hoon hi khas"

Vedang's expression softened, a genuine smile spreading across his face.

He pulled her into a tighter embrace, his lips brushing against her forehead. "Thank you, Iraa. For believing in me, even when I have doubts."

He tightened his arms around her, his breath warm against her hair. "I promise I'll do my best to be the partner you deserve. I'll work on finding a balance, and I'll make time for us."

"I believe you," Iraa said softly. "And I'll be here, cheering you on and reminding you to take a break when you need it."

Vedang leaned back slightly, looking into her eyes. "You really are my sunshine, you know that?"

"And you're my steady rock," she replied, smiling. "Together, we'll make it work."

Vedang's lips curled into a tender smile. "I like the sound of that."

They stood in comfortable silence for a moment, simply enjoying the closeness and the understanding that had grown between them.

"Iraa," Vedang said after a while, his tone playful yet sincere, "I think we're going to be okay."

She chuckled softly, leaning her head against his chest. "I think so too, Vedang. I think so too."

"Iraa," he whispered, his voice filled with a mix of tenderness and longing, "there's something I need to do."
