Chapter XVII "New Secrets Unlocked"

(Y/n) POV:

I wasn't being given a second to breathe I was dodging a ducking while my father was crumbling the buildings and using the earth to throw at me "Take it easy! Aren't I your son?!" I yelled while hiding in an alley, trying to catch my breath before the buildings around me shattered and started floating, swirling around me.  "Today I'm playing a villain... so no," he chuckled and threw them all at once, and I reacted by creating a shield of water, turning it to ice which blocked multiple of the rocks and allowed me to quickly turn it back to water before sending it in a clear slash at him.

The water vaporized as soon as it got close to him, as he had used his own fire to turn my water into steam "Nice reflexes Kid, but let's see just how good they've become," My dad smirked as he then created a large fireball between his hands, the flames slightly turning blue before sending it flying at me. I swiped my arm up, creating a fire slash the cut his attack in half but didn't see the rock he sent flying behind it and was hit by it hard, the rock shattering as I was sent flying back "Ugh... Still hate that move..." I muttered to myself while getting up, bringing myself to my knees before immediately being uppercutted by a piece of rock shooting up from the ground.

I was now back to laying on the ground, groaning as I took off my helmet which had the bottom part shattered "Well that's just unfortunate," I tossed my helmet aside and stood up as quickly as possible before underneath me it suddenly turned to sand, sinking me in and seeing my dad standing in front of me "Still could use a little work, but you certainly take a hit better," he chuckled. Without thinking I took in a lot of air and breathed it out, spitting fire at him but when I finally ran out of air, I saw that there was a wall of earth in front of me as my dad then poked two holes through it to look at me "But that fire bending has definitely level up," he said and tipped the wall towards me.

Thinking quickly I created water, and turned it to ice, blocking the earth wall before using more water on the sand I was stuck in, turning it to mud and slipping out before using my fire as thrusters to push myself away and landing back on my feet, looking at my father who had a surprised look "Well, well, well... you really have grown," he smiled.

Yaoyorozu POV:

Almost everyone was inside the monitor room watching as (Y/n) fought against his enemy, a man who could control earth and fire, I was wondering who this man was until I started noticing similarities between them, the dual quirks, the similar movements when controlling their powers, to even some of their facial features.  I then witnessed as the man then started causing the earth to shake, a miniature earthquake starting as (Y/n) flew into the air to avoid it, only to be caught off guard as multiple geysers of lava spat up from the ground and were all aimed at him.

(Y/n) POV:

I started avoiding the lava coming up from the ground, attempting to flee out the exit but the lava started spiraling around me, making me start to overheat a bit faster and unable to use the moister in the air to create my water "C'mon (Y/n), you should have enough experience to get out this, right?" my father asked while smiling and continuously adding more lava.  I started getting surrounded even more, attempting to think of a way out before remembering what Yaoyorozu said to be during our talk about strategy's...

~Flashback~

Yaoyorozu: Now let's figure out what to do if someone has a fire ability - She spoke while writing on a piece of paper, already having several words and strategies on how to deal with different Quirks.
(Y/n): That would indeed be a problem, especially if my water can't fight them... - I replied, thinking to myself a bit.
Yaoyorozu: Yeah... which is why I was thinking... - She spoke softly, seeming to hesitate on her question.
