(Flashback)

(Third Person POV)
-
Stick City, World 1, During _nala's Takeover
-

Every moment in this city felt like hell now. Screams and fighting rang out as bots patrolled the streets, taking away any stick who resisted.

King carried his unconscious daughter in his arms. Purple had been knocked out cold by one of the bots flying around the city. Thankfully, he had been able to knock her out of their hands before they dragged her away.

Sneaking through alleyways, King maneuvered his way back home and ran inside. He made sure to close the door behind him before laying Purple down. He had to do something. Anything.

He couldn't lose another child.

Purple tossed and turned in distress, groaning in pain but not waking up. Stressed, King rummaged through his place, looking for anything to help her. Finding a first aid kit, he ran back over to her and started patching her up.

While he was helping, he couldn't help but think about what he had witnessed during the battle that had happened only a month or two before. The huge monster, two pairs of the Color Gang running around. He witnessed Yellow's death, holding onto his daughter in support. All the destruction from that battle weakened the city, so of course the takeover was easy. It seemed like whoever was in charge didn't take long to take over wherever they came from, and they also didn't wait to come back to take over this world too.

"..Y-Yellow... ugh.." Purple mumbled. King let a tear fall.

"It's gonna be ok.."

Once he had fixed her up, he picked her up again. The basement was probably the safest place to go. There was a portal down there. They could escape. With his new idea, he rushed to the basement trap door and climbed down, making sure to carefully handle Purple while doing so. His old experiments and old portal still laid clear in the dusty and dark basement.

Just as he walked over and flipped open the portal, he heard his door break down as soldiers invaded and searched the house above.

He could carry her through and they could escape together. But he knew that whoever was in charge of these bots was smarter than that. If the Color Gang was involved, him and Purple may get involved as well. If anything were to happen to them, he'd rather it happen to just him. Sighing, King gently placed Purple through the portal, turning it off and breaking the frame. He was afraid, but he knew he did the right thing.

"There's a citizen down here."

The trapdoor opened. With hitched breath, King drew a netherite sword and stood tall, ready to fight.

His last thoughts were of Purple.

She had to be ok.

The Nether, World 1
-

Purple's head was spinning. The cold metal of the soldier that had chased her and her dad down still resonated on her skin against the side of her head. The last thing she had seen before passing out was her dad running with her in his arms.

Slowly blinking awake, Purple looked around. An endless expanse of red and orange laid out before her as her vision started to come more into focus. Was this the Nether? How'd she even get here? With the little strength she had, she pushed herself up against the empty portal frame, leaning against it for support. Once she was able to see clearly, she realized the portal fame she sat in was King's.
