Chapter 1

The ride from Seattle seemed to take forever. I was starting to regret not running to my destination. It didn't help the bus driver kept eyeing me. Who wouldn't. It's not everyday a girl gets on the bus barefoot wearing shorts and a tank-top and carrying a book bag in freezing weather. I probably would have been a little skeptical myself. But I had the bus fare so what could he say.

I leaned my head against the window and watched the endless parade of trees fly by. It was pouring down raining. One of the reason I decided on not running. Don't get me wrong I love rain, but for some reason I wanted to be near other humans. It gets lonely after being alone for long periods of time.

I have been on my own for 6 years. There was once a time when I was loved. When I belonged to a family. Now I'm just some rejected orphan. I was 7 when I had to learn to fend for myself. Weird things always seemed to happen when I was around. It got to the point where my mother couldn't deal, so she left me in the woods with out a second glance. I became stronger, faster, and smarter each day. I can do things a normal human shouldn't. The last time I saw my mother she called me a Demon. I made it my life's mission the day she left me to always do good. Never hurt anyone. I don't want to be a monster. But sometimes I can't control what I do. Sometimes I mess up. I never stay in one place to long. I've learned that to become attach to something means to let emotions in. Uncontrolled emotions can cause accidents. So that's why Im moving on.

A sign appeared as we drove down slippery rode.

"Forks." I mumbled to myself.

This seems like a good place for now. Their are alot of trees and I can stay out of sight easily.

The bus pulled up to the bus station.

"Here you are." The bus driver said as he came to a stop.

I along with a hand full of others got of. The bus driver stared at me as I came up. He was a plumped old man. He wore his bus uniform along with a hat covering his all grayish-white hair.

He had big dark caring brown eyes.

"Hey. You going to be okay out there. It's a little cold to be dressed like that." He said eyeing me with worry.

"I will be fine." I said quietly.

"But thank you for your concern" I added with a small smile.

"Right. Well...you be safe miss...." He said looking for my name.

"Cordelia. Cora for short." I said to him.

"Miss Cora it is. I'm Henry. Guess I'll be seeing you then." He said tipping his had at me.

"Yea...later Henry." I said to the man.

I pulled my book bag on and made my way from the bus station. Once I was out if sight I took of running till I came to a stream. I walked over to a boulder near by and sat on it. I looked down into the stream to see the reflection of a girl.

She had long dark brown curly hair that came to her waist. It was all over the place. A thin, pale, bony face with big glowing blue eyes was hidden between this wild mess of hair. A bit of dirt on her cheek. This girl was me.

I looked away from my reflection and decided to clean myself.

I reached for my bag and pulled out the little bar of soap I had and began washing up. Once I finished I pulled on a pair of jeans and a blue t-shirt with Minnie Mouse on it. I took my brush and combed threw the tangled mess of hair to make it look somewhat decent. I was bare-foot. I didn't have any shoes. I packed my things and decided to look for a good place to sleep. After walking through the woods I came across a road. I decided to walk along it to see wear it lead. After 5 minutes I came to a bridge. I walked down the hill to get under it. It looked like no one had been there. So I decided this would be where I stayed. I pulled out my blanket and began to sing a Nursery Rhyme I remembered.

• London Bridge is falling down,

Falling down, falling down,

London Bridge is falling down,

My fair Lady.

Soon after I fell asleep.Everything was good for now. Tomorrow was a new day. Who knew what it could bring.
