Chpt.20: Three Amigos

Chapter 20

I heard someone come up behind me. I turned to see it was Bella. I shut the phone.

"Hey. You okay?" She asked.

"Some friends you got their Bella." I replied sarcastically.

She laughed and nodded.

"Yea. They can be a little much when it comes to vampires. I think you told them off though." She said smiling.

We heard the door open and the girl named Kim came out.

"Nice speech. The woof woof part was hilarious . Paul's face was priceless." She said giggling.

"Thanks." I replied smiling at her.

"I think Emily's in shock." Kim told me.

"Maybe you should check on her." Bella said biting her lip.

I sighed and nodded. I got up and headed back for the house.

Everyone was at the table whispering, except Paul. They stopped when I came in.

"Don't stop on my account boys. I said smirking.

They all stared at me in silence.

"Where's Emily?" I asked

Quil pointed to the left and I started down the hall to find her. When I did I saw her staring wide eyed at herself in the mirror. Sam was standing behind her smiling.

"Are you guys okay?" I asked worriedly.

Emily turned and jumped at me hugging me tightly.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She kept repeating to me loudly!

I just patted her back awkwardly while she squeezed me to death.

"Your welcome..."I said to her.

She let me go and I could see happiness radiating off her face.

"I don't know how I will ever repay you." She admitted finally.

I just shook my head and grinned.

"Well if you can let me take a couple of those cookies you made back to Bella's I'm sure we will be even then." I said smiling.

"Of course! But are you sure that's all you want. I could...." I smirked and cut her off.

"No need to thank me Emily. It's not my fault you got the new scar healing cream." I said winking at her.

She just laughed and nodded.

"Right! Scar healing cream." She said agreed.

I nodded back with a grin.

"Well, I going to get right on your cookies. I'm sure the boys have ate them all by now." She said while making her way up the hall.

"Ok." I said with a shrug.

I turned to see Sam staring at me silently. I raised a questioning eyebrow at him.

"You okay Sam?" I asked him worriedly.

"Yea...umm thanks for what you did. You don't know how good it's makes me feel to see her so happy..." He said trailing off.

I smiled and patted his overly large shoulder.

"I think me and you both know Emily thanked me enough. So it's cool Sam." I looked up at him and he nodded, a small smile gracing his face.

We made our way back up to the kitchen. Emily was taking stuff out to make cookies and everyone else was watching her. I could see why.

Emily zipped around the kitchen, never letting the smile leave her face. I honestly thought her face was going to crack because she was smiling so hard.

I headed for the front door again and found Bella and the girl named Kim.

"Emily okay?" Kim asked me as I came back to sit on the step.

"Yea...I think so. She is making me me thank you To-Go cookies." I said smiling.

Bella smiled and hugged me.

"She must be really happy." Bella told me softly.

"Yea she is. Sam to." I said smiling up at Bella.

"So you should be proud. You helped a innocent civilian today." Kim said grinning.

I looked at her and smiled softly.

"I guess. But I will never be able to make up for the bad I have done." I replied sadly.

Kim moved in front of me and took my hand.

"It's not entirely your fault. You were young and weren't in control of your powers. You didn't have anyone to guide you...like you said everyone is capable of Evil. We are the ones that decide whether to be good or not." Kim squeezed my hand.

"Yea what you did was really...bad. But your a good person. Anyone can see that. I'm sure those people forgive you." She finished finally.

A single tear slid down my cheek.

"I doubt that, but thank you." I replied softly, then I shook my head.

When'd you get so smart?" I said hitting Kim playfully.

Me and Bella laughed at Kim's hurt face. It wasn't very good, she could barely keep the smile off.

"I have always been smart." She said grinning.

We sat on the porch laughing and joking around. Kim was telling us a funny story about Jared, who I learned was her boyfriend.

"Geez...you guys and dating mythical creatures..." I said playfully.

Bella and Kim looked at each other and shrugged.

"You'd think you guys would be enemies considering the circumstances." I said shrugging.

"Naaahh! Jared nem hate vampires because they are basically made to. I don't know any vampires personally to hold a grudge." She said shrugging.

Bella nodded and added.

"Besides we three make a good team. We're not goin to let a chose of appetite get in the way of us. Are we?"

I laughed and shook my head.

"Heck to the no." I replied giggling.

A howl sounded from the woods. We all turned to the direction it came from.

"Who is that?" I asked Kim.

"I don't know. Everyone is here" she replied looking confused.

The wolf howled again and I found myself getting up from the porch and taking off in the direction of the wolf.

"CORA COME BACK!" I heard Bella scream.

But soon her scream was a whisper in the wind. I began making my way to the distressed wolf, all logical thoughts gone from my mind.
