Chpt.19: Speech

Chapter 19

We all got out of the car. A hoard of boys came running down the front steps.

"Well well well. Bella's back." Said one.

They all hugged and joked and I stood of to the side watching them.

One turned to me.

"Who's this?" Said another.

They turned towards me staring

"Guys this is Cora." Bella said smiling.

"She's the newest Cullen." Jake added.

They all got angry.

"YOU BROUGHT A VAMPIRE?!!" Yelled one of the boys.

I stared at him stepping back when I saw him begin to shake.

"Paul. Calm the Hell down. You see her eyes. She ain't no Vampire!" Said another.

Then the boy turned to me.

"Don't mind him he can be a real idiot." He said smiling.

"I'm Quil." He said holding out his hand.

"Cordelia....Cora for short." I told him.

"Nice to meet you." He said to me.

More people came outside.

Jake came to me and introduced me to them.

"You met Quil and Paul. That's Jared, Embry, Seth, Leah,Sam,Emily,Kim and little Claire." He informed me.

"Hi." I said to them.

Emily came over and hugged me. "Nice to meet you Cora." She said warmly.

"You to." I replied with a smile.

I notice the scars on her cheek and remembered not to stare.

"Come inside. I just made cookies."

We went in I sat at the table between Quil and the boy named Jared. The girl named Kim sat on his lap. I smiled at her and she smiled back.

I felt Someone looking at me and saw the boy named Paul glaring.

I looked away when I saw Emily come up to me with the cookies.

I smiled and took one. Bella went off to talk to Jake leaving me with the others.

Soon as she was gone Paul smirked.

"So why'd they get you?" He asked me.

Everyone stopped and looked at me.

"I don't know what you mean." I said to him confused.

"Why'd those leeches get you? Saving you for dinner?" He said nastily.

"Paul..."Emily started.

I shook my head cutting Emily off.

"You obviously don't know them. They are kind." I said to him.

"You and Bella are delusional the Cullen's are blood sucking demons. They suck the life out of people." He said with a smirk. A chorus of yeahs came from the boys around the room.

I looked at them all and shook my head.

"It's sad you people think so narrow mindly. The Cullen's do not kill humans. Carlisle he's a doctor he helps them." I told him.

"Doctor Fang probably works there to be closer to the blood. Thinking no one will notice if he takes one little bite." Paul said chuckling slightly.
