Chapter 15

Carlisle lead me back inside. Esme sat on one of the love seats and the Doc sat with her. Edward, Bella,Jasper took the couch and Alice sat on Jasper's lap. Rosalie and Emmett to the last love seat. Emmett grabbed me and sat me on his lap.

"Here you go fire ball. You can sit here." He said teasingly.

I blushed and elbowed his side.

"So you know about me. I have a few questions about you guys." I said to them.

Carlisle smiled and wrapped his arm around Esme.

"I was wondering when you would ask." He replied to me.

"Well I kinda get the gist of it. Speed strength, beauty, intelligence I'm sure. Well except Emmy here." I said patting Emmett's shoulder.

"Hey!" Emmett said acting hurt.

Everyone laughed. Then I continued.

"But I was just kinda wanting to know your food source." I said shyly.

They all smiled at this.

"Well you see Cora. We drink the blood of animals. We don't want to harm humans." Carlisle answered.

"Oh! Okay. Just making sure you guys weren't saving me for a snack. Wouldn't want to set you on fire." I said wiggling my fingers.

Emmett's laugh shook his entire body.

"Don't worry we want take a snap at you." Emmett said with a smile.

"So are there lots of vampires?" I asked curiously.

"There are quite a few covens and plenty of nomads." Carlisle told me.

I nodded my head.

"Are there a lot of vampire like you that don't drink from humans?" I asked.

"We have only ever met one coven like us. The Denali Coven. Our cousins in Alaska." He said to me.

I nodded processing the information.

"You guys go out into the sun. So I assume it doesn't burn you. Correct?" I said.

"Myth." Edward said playing with a strand of Bella's hair.

"I haven't seen coffins so I'm guessing that's a myth aswell." I stated.

"Myth." Emmett said.

"We don't sleep." Jasper added.

"Never?" I asked incredulously.

"Never.." Emmett whispered in my ear before chuckling.

"Wow. What do you guys do? You must get bored eventually?" I asked baffled.

"Read. Watch tv. Play video games. Hunt." Emmett started listing things.

"Shopping!!" Alice added smiling.

I just smiled and nodded my head.

"So you don't sleep. What happens when you get tired?" I asked.

"We don't." Jasper said.

"Wow!"I replied.

"So your nice,golden eyed, veggie vampires." I said in conclusion.

They laughed at this and s.miled.

"Wait!! Do you guys you know grow old and die? Or is this like a life sentence type of deal." I asked.

"We live forever." Carlisle replied.

"Forever is a long time..," I mumbled. "How long have you been vampires?"

"I'm over 300 years old." Carlisle answered.

"Edward is around a hundred. The others between 70 and 80." He continued.

I stared at him for second.

"Oh." I said finally.

"You okay Cora." Bella asked with a small smile.

"Yea. Wow Bella you must really like older men." I said teasingly.

Edward laughed at this and kissed the top of Bella's head.

I smiled and shook mine.

I looked at the sky the sun was setting. A end to another perfect day.

"Well don't worry." I said finally.

"Your secret is safe with me."

Carlisle smiled and nodded.

"Thank you." He replied.
