Prologue

When a certain person finds out what their special inner animal is, they get sent to a special school called Southern Brooks High. There, they learn to use their powers such as shape shifting into their inner animal and that special talent that they have such as teleportation, flying and many more. The teachers are also animals but others that have graduated from that school don’t always come back. Others leave to live a normal life, just like mortals. Wake up, head to work, get home, shower and sleep.  Some discover what they are when they’re really young at the age of 3 or 4 sometimes. Therefore, there’s also a school known as Southern Brooks Primary and Elementary. Others discover themselves at a certain age, such as 16 or 17. So their knowledge’s are pretty much still hidden. Upon discovering their powers, these people can either lead a normal life like mortals or head to a planet called Siliken. So, why can’t they just build schools on Siliken and not resolve to earth? Well, we did have schools, that was… until the Fall.

Not long ago, there was a great war. A planet called Amnestia attacked Siliken and we fell to our knees. Under the rule of the Amestia king, we were forced to do hard labour. Kids were to stay at home and do the house chores while fathers were to serve the king. What’s worse, the king hand-picked a handful of females to please him with their bodies. My sister was one of them. With her long brown hair and glowing amber eyes, she could make any guy blush with just a wink. Her flawless body is what other girls would kill to have. But it all ended when she got dragged away from us, tears filling all our eyes. Our parents tried to fight the guards, but to no avail. They watched, as their oldest daughter got dragged away, her eyes flashing from amber to red in hatred. Siliken was under the rule of the Amnestia king for years. Our own leader had no chance against him. Months later, after my sister got dragged away, father came home one day, crying.

“She’s gone.  She took her own life,” he whispered and clenched his fists. I remember that night, the sky was red, the streets were empty… pin drop silence. I remember hugging my knees to my chest and crying my eyes out. My tail brushed up twice its size and remembering all the times I had with my sister.

In the middle of the night, my mom came to wake me up. She smiled her usual leopard smile and placed a coat over my shoulder. I didn’t say a word; I followed her and my father through the night, down the silent streets, avoiding guards and those… annoying searching lights. We headed towards a small house. A soft smile formed on my lips. Fara…I smiled at my best friend’s name. Father knocked on the door and a woman opened it, letting us in without hesitation. I ran in and hugged Fara, who was sitting on the sofa and stood up when we entered. She hugged me back, her soft warm tail curling around mine, giving me comfort. I couldn’t stop the tears coming out of my eyes and felt a hand on my shoulder. Pulling away, I met the eyes of my friends. Sakura with her warm, comforting violet eyes, Aqua with her long blond hair and blue streaks and caring bluish-grey eyes, Shaia and her wide, caring soft smile, Red with her blazing red hair and dark green eyes and Silence, dark brown eyes and a soft, wide smile formed on her lips. I sniffed and pulled them in for a hug. After a few knocks on the door, other people entered, grief and suffering filled their eyes. Michael came in with his father and headed towards our group and managed a small whisper, “maybe this is the last time I’ll ever be comforted,” Red gently slapped his head, “we’re all kinda going through the same.”

“We’ll make it,” Sakura and Silence chorused softly. I felt a soft spark in me yeah, we are gonna make it. “I’m sorry for your loss, Mike,” Fara said, touching his hand. Michael forced a smile, “it’s okay. My mom will survive,”

“She got chosen, eh?” Aqua frowned and I looked at Michael who gave a small nod. Seems like his mom had the ‘body’ in the king’s eye. We all sighed and I eavesdropped on the adult’s conversation. They were gathered around a table, looking at a map, “Okay, it’s settled. We’ll take the children to Earth and place them in Southern Brooks, where Logan Woods,” Mike’s father looked at my dad, “has started a school. There, we’ll branch it all out and make sure that the kids get safely to earth,” There was a mummer between the adults but they all agreed. I stopped listening and pulled my friends in for a hug. This might be the last time I’m hugging you guys. Let’s hope we make through this
