[Ford POV]

During one of the work days on the portal I kept thinking about Bill. I wanted to see if he could pick a less.. bizarre form to use when showing himself to the town and Fiddleford. Maybe I should put a note of that somewhere for next time he possesses me while I sleep. I scribbled the thought down in a sketch book and left it open by my bed. Me and F were taking a break from the portal since we'd been at work for hours. He started the coffee pot and I was preparing for a quick shower. Staying in the basement with warm electrical wires, a sweater, and a jacket isn't as I deal as I thought it would be. Who knew just the electricity  for this thing coul cause so much heat. Not to mention how grimey I felt after preparing the fuel for it.
I grabbed some spare clothes and went into the restroom. I turned the knob and the steam soon filled the air. I took my lab coat off and set it on the back of the door, slipping off my shoes as well. I was just about to start undressing when I was startled by Bill looking at me through the mirror. "Sweet Moses! A little 'hello' would've been just fine!" I grumbled in my shocked state. Bill laughed and wiped more steam off the mirror. "Oh Fordsy, I know you missed me" he joked. I shrugged "I guess, but did you have to come by right now exactly?" I explained uncomfortably. "Please, Sixer I've inhabited your body, I basically know it like the back of my hand, me seeing you intimately should be the least of your worries" he replied.  Though I suppose that's true I never thought of it like that before. The harder I thought about what he meant or exactly how specific he's seen just made me embarrassed the more I thought about it. "So what do you want anyway?" I asked. "I just came by to tell you to keep an eye out on your friend there. He's been pretty clingy lately and it might slow down the process of the portal, I mean we're getting into some big stuff and we don't wanna risk him messing it up, Sixer" Bill insisted. I suppose he can be clingy, but I don't think that's exactly his fault. I shrug, "I'll take that into consideration, thank you Bill. Can you leave me be though? I'd prefer to shower by myself" I crossed my arms. "aww shucks, you're making me leave so soon? What's he harm in a little conversation in here, I won't stare" The triangle teased. "Seriously Bill, leave me alone!" My face flushes from how embarrassing I was becoming. "Okay okay, yeesh. Just remember that I know everything!" He told me In a cocky tone before leaving me alone. I waited a few minutes before hopping in even just so he wouldn't try to trick me or anything by popping up and scaring me or something.
Once.i felt comfortable enough I undressed and took a well deserved shower. After that I freshes up, redressed and dried my hair. I went down stairs. When I came I to the livingroom I saw F reading through one of my old New Jersey Cryptid books. My face fleshed with embarrassment as I had remembered I left some personal items among pictures and such in-between the pages. I quickly snatched the book from him and gave an excuse, then hid the items from peering eyes. Perhaps he was right, maybe F was getting too close.
Oh the bright side though the portal is going really well. Sometimes during our breaks we even find a monster creeping around!
I've been studying a creature recently that I think would be a fun challenge for F and I to track down. It's the Gremloblin; half gremlin, half goblin. Despite the name it's rather large and horrific. Burning yellow eyes, dark murky and hairy skin, a large torso and muscly arms. Its kind of weird to look at but nonetheless, I must study it! F looks a bit upset or confused after my sudden panic over the book I took from him, so maybe I should go now in attempt to distract him.  "Hey Fiddleford! You uh, wanna go catch a Gremloblin?" I suggested. He looked up at me "are you sure? What if it takes us longer to make the portal because of it?" He asked. I shrugged it off "The portal will be fine, it can wait. It'll be fun, F" I reassured  him. He smiled at me and seemed to cheer up with that. "Yeah, and the weather's cleared up enough that it's easier to walk around. But wouldn't it be hibernating about now?" F ask. I shrug "Nevertheless, it'll make a fun adventure" I smile. He nods and we headed out.
We walked deep into the woods and checked a few caves even. When we did finally find it, it was asleep just as Fiddleford suggested. I knew it would be crazy but I told him we had to catch it, and I happened to have a bag big enough just for it. "Should we distract it Incase it wakes up?" He asked nervously, always being a cautious one. I looked it over. "I think it should be fine, besides I'm not so sure that's a great idea. Something tells me it's glossy yellow eyes aren't just for show" I explained to him quietly before going over and attempting to catch the beast. I almost got it over it's arms when it began shuffling and woke. It slammed it's fist to the ground, throwing me off my balance. My assistant attempted to get it away from me by attacking it with force. His banjo, and some rocks from the cave. It shifted for us and started going after him. I got up and was going to help but I guess my assistant thought mounting the beast would help him get a good headshot, works well in theory but in practice it hit him against the cave wall and rocks a few times before ripping him off and into it's grasp. "Fiddleford!" I called out. I looked through my journal for any notes I had but there was nothing useful. I pulled a water bottle from my bag that had been sitting next to my thermos and splashed water on the beast... Which only made him much much scarier. Fiddleford was trying to get out of it's grasp when it looked him in the eyes. That moment I had never seen true fear like that on anyone. Fiddleford eyes turned the same glossy yellow as the beast and he started shaking as if he had seen his worst nightmare, every peice of his body was aching with fear, even his hair. I quickly wrote a few things in my journal about it before taking out my crossbow and attempting to kill the beast. It only got angrier, and it took a while but I did manage to bring it down. When it dropped Fiddleford he was still under the influence of the beast. I dusted off the scrapes and some of the blood from the fight and went to his aid? "Hey! Fiddleford! Its okay, it's me!" I shook him a few times to get him to snap out of it, "it's me.." I mumbled a bit nervous as I watched his eyes. He slowly returned to himself but he was still pretty traumatized. "Ford.." he mumbled groggily before clinging to me in a hug. I could still feel him shaking. "Fiddleford, what did you see?" I asked. He seemed still too scared to talk about it. I sighed a little and lifted him into my arms. He was a little surprised but seemed not to mind.
I walked back to our house and brought him to his room. I sat with him for a while trying to relax him. "It'll be okay. Is there anything I could get you or anything I could do to make you feel better? I could make you your favorite food" I smiled trying to reassure him. He took a few breaths trying to relax himself before responding. "That would be nice" he gave me a faint smile. I nodded. "Promise you'll be okay while I head to the kitchen for a second?" I ask. He nods. "Cross my heart" he replied. I smiled and headed into the kitchen and looked over the shelves. I grabbed two cans from the shelf of Baron's High Flying Beans (his favorite) and began to cook them for him. I made him a bowl, then put a lid over the rest Incase he wanted seconds so I could go back to it later. I grabbed a spoon and walked back to his room with it. I handed the meal to him and sat with him. "Thanks Stanford" he smiled a bit. He began to eat. I thought for a while of other ways I could maybe help him get over whatever it was he saw back there. When I looked back at him he was just about finished. "Hey, you know what always helps me relax after a rough day?" I suggested. He put his attention to me. "meditation, I know how it sounds but it's really helpful actually. I could show you how if you'd like" I offered. He shrugged "couldn't hurt to try" he set his dish on the nightstand. "Alright. It might be easier with an open space, so would you like to move rooms at all?" I ask. He shook his head. "I'll probably just get some shut-eye after this" he replied. "Fair enough. Here, come sit on the carpet" I instructed. He sat down across from me and put his attention to my instructions. "Now, clear your mind. Just think of nature or clouds or something. Take some deep breaths, and..."
