Again, unedited!POV: ENID
"Nini, wake up," I heard Hamida's voice as she was softly shaking me.
My eyes fluttered opened, instantly regretting it as the bright world came into view. I squeezed my eyes shot again, trying to go under the comforter to shield myself away from the morning bright sun.
I felt someone grab the comforter. "No, no you have to get up or we'll be late for school." Fatima says, withdrawing the comforter from my tired body.
"Noooo, I don't want to." I whined like a small child, complaining.
"Are you sick Nini?" I heard Mida's small worried voice as she touched my forehead.
"She's not sick, she's just a bit tired and will be fine, okay?" The curly head reassured my sister who I'm sure nodded understanding.
"Why don't you go put your shoes on while I get this one out of bed, hm?"
"Okay sissy," Hamida agreed. I felt a small kiss on my forehead before I heard tiny footstep running away.
"Now, let's get up." I heard my best friend says, grabbing both my hands, supporting me to finally get off my back and sit down.
I whine, peaking as I rub my throbbing head taking in my surrounding. I was in Fatima's big bedroom.
Memories from last night surfacing; the bonfire party, meeting Max, the kiss, running away from the game, Yusef driving us home and staying the night, and crying quietly in Tima's arms the entire night.
What a night.
"How do you feel?" Tima asked.
"Like I got ran over by a truck four times." I speak for the first time that morning. My voice was still hoarse from all the crying last night.
I hear Tima laugh, "now you're exaggerating. This isn't your first hangover, plus you didn't drink that much last night." The taller girl said.
"Well, the first was a bitch, and so is the second." I complain.
"This will help," I finally opened my eyes, this time slowly, as I took the tylenol and glass of water Tima was offering.
I drank the water and return the glass to Tima wiping my mouth.
"Better?" She questioned, looking at me expectantly, I just nodded.
"I know what else will make you feel much better. But first, go take a shower, you stink." My best friend says, pulling me out of bed and dragging me to her bathroom.
------
"Where is Mida and Yusef?" I asked instantly, descending the stairs and heading into the dining room were Tima and Miriam were arranging the table.
Fatima look up from what she was doing, "I took her over to Daisy's for school. She wanted to say goodbye but you were in the bathroom and she was still thinking you were sick, I didn't want her to worry. So, I told her you are planing on taking her on a picnic when she gets back," She said smiling sweetly. "And Yusef is till in bed I guess," she added shugging.
