POV: OLIVIA

The weekend stretched out in slow motion, like I was moving through water that refused to let me surface.

Normally, weekends meant flashing lights, music pounding through my veins, drinks in hand, someone new in my bed before sunrise.

But this weekend was different. I stayed in. Alone. Silent. Hoping, maybe stupidly, that a text or a call would appear from the one person who made every other thrill meaningless.

I lay sprawled on my bed, ceiling spinning, and felt my own mind turning on me.

This isn't me. I'm Olivia fucking Grayson. I don't do feelings. I party every weekend. I can get any girl I want.

But I want her.
I only want Enid.

The words repeated over and over, echoing off the walls of my skull, making me feel dizzy. It was pathetic. And I hated myself for it.

Every sip of water felt like a betrayal to who I thought I was-carefree, untouchable, untethered. Now all I could do was obsess over a girl who didn't want me, who asked for space, and who had probably spent the weekend blissfully unaware of how I was slowly falling apart.

I rolled onto my side, stomach knotting, thinking of the date we had. The way we cuddled that night, that laugh she tried to hide, the way she had looked at me like she might feel something. Then pulled back. And now... one week of silence.

One week where I didn't drink, didn't go out, didn't party. One week where I just... waited.

I barely slept. My mom's tried everything.....movies, snacks, silly jokes-but nothing reached me. Even ice cream felt flat. I could see the worry in their eyes, the way mama sat silently next to me when I didn't want to move, the way mom would stroke my hair, murmuring, "You'll be okay, baby." But I wasn't. Not yet. Not until I saw her again, until I heard her voice, until I could understand why she wanted this space.

And now Monday loomed like a dark cloud over me. Part of me wanted it to arrive faster, just so I could see her again. Another part dreaded it because space meant distance and I wasn't ready for that.

I'd take a glance from afar. I'd take anything at this point.

Just being near her might be enough.

Morning came too quickly. My eyes were swollen from too little sleep and too much thinking. I moved like a ghost through my room, barely seeing the silk sheets or the sunlight slicing across the floor.

Breakfast wasn't even a thought. I grabbed an apple tossing it into my mouth more out of habit I've gained recently than hunger.

I was halfway to the elevator when mama stepped in, hand on my arm. "Olivia," she said gently, "Damon will take you today. You can't drive like this. You look so exhausted honey."

"I'm fine," I murmured, barely looking at her, already nodding. I was too tired to argue, too tired to resist.

Then mom appeared behind her wife, eyes filled with concern. "We just want to make sure you're okay, baby."
I nodded again, forcing a small smile I didn't feel. They watched me step into the elevator, silent and worried, and I didn't look back. I couldn't. Not if I wanted to keep it together.

The car ride to school was a haze. My mind wasn't on anything except her.

Where is she?
What if she calls me? I'll pick up on the first ring. I know I will. I won't even think. I'll just answer.

Please don't let her not call.

The school loomed, familiar but strange. The halls were filled with life, but I felt invisible, detached, as if nothing mattered except the amber eyes I wanted to see.
