POV: ENID
"Come sit with me Ollie," Hamida happily says.
Olivia followed the little girl's instruction by sitting next to her on the big recliner after saying 'hi' to a slightly shocked Fatima.
I felt Tima's eyes on me as I enter the room behind my sister and Olivia.
Tima looks at me, then to my hand where I held the yellow gummies before meeting my eyes again–subtly asking me what's going on.
I widen my eyes as I slightly shakes my head no, telling her I also don't know, then going to sit down.
Next to the blonde, might I add.
"That's enough sugar for today habibti." I halt Hamida, who was stuffing gummies in her mouth.
"But Nini, I just had like twenty." Hamida try to reason with me, her words muffled by the gummies in her mouth.
Twenty gummies, in like five seconds.
Tima and Olivia laugh at my sister's antics, but Hamida up only frowned at not getting her way.
She can be a brat sometimes, and I let her.
I want her to be able to portray her emotions around me, and not be scared like she is around our father.
I'm still navigating that road, am not good at parenting.
"Let her have a bit more." Olivia's commanding voice came out as she faced my direction, staring at me precisely.
I stared back at her, knowing this is how she is, but I wanted her to add something else, something I know she won't sa-
"Please?" Olivia suprisingly cut my thoughts short, as she gently asked quietly.
Her tone softer than ever.
I nodded wordlessly, not able to form a single word.
I don't why I get like this.
But, am starting to think it has something to do with how she talks to me.
How soft her voice is with me.
Or how her blue orbs soften when we stare at each other.
Or am delusional.
Yes. That's it, I'm just delusional.
Olivia's pink lips spread with a small smile, making my heart skip a beat as I look at her in daze.
The blonde turns away from me to Hamida, "you can have some more bookie," she told my sister who is probably smiling ear to ear.
I hear Tima clearing her throat all of a sudden, bringing me back to reality and I roll my eyes at her. Even if she can't see me in the dark room.
She always does that when she's trying so hard not to laugh.
Is something funny right now?
"Thank you Ollie." Mida said to the blonde with a cheery voice, standing up and kissing her jaw, making the blonde let out a small laugh.
