Roman POV

"So how does it feel to finally be married, Mrs. Reigns?" I asked Amali as we stood on the dance floor and slowly moved to the beat of the music.

I saw her smile softly and then let her gaze wander over the beautiful scenery for a moment before her eyes landed on me again. The dim light from the many candles and fairy lights above our heads gave her skin a slight glow. At that moment, Amali really did seem like an angel who had entered my life when I least expected it.

"Like a dream come true. I never thought that so much could change in just a few short years. But here we are. And I can't tell you enough how much I love you, you incredibly gorgeous man." she replied softly.

"You took the words right out of my mouth. I love you too." I said softly before leaning in to steal a little kiss.

But my wife had other things on her mind. She quickly put her arms around my neck and didn't let me pull away. I was only too happy to give in. And I didn't care one bit that we could hear the snickering and whooping among the guests. However, I was very sure that Jey and of course Jimmy were the loudest.

A while later, I stood a little away from the party with Lilac in my arms to get our little one to sleep. Meanwhile, Amali had gone inside with her mom so she could go to the bathroom with her help.

I gently rocked the baby back and forth while she smiled at me. But it wasn't long before she could no longer fight off her tiredness. Slowly but surely, her eyes kept closing until she was no longer able to keep them open.

I gave my daughter a kiss on the forehead and then carefully placed her in the baby stroller. With one hand, I kept pushing it back and forth to make sure she continued to sink into a deep sleep.

As I absentmindedly did this, my eyes wandered over to our guests. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. They were dancing and laughing. The sight of the children made me particularly happy. My boys chased each other around the dance floor while Jojo tried to control them. However, she didn't succeed at all and eventually gave up.

Sighing, I reminisced about the last few years since I had known Amali. Sometimes I couldn't believe how much she had changed my life. But I was so grateful to her for that. Before she came into my life, I was done with love and wanted to concentrate on my children and my work. But obviously a higher power had completely different plans. And that was the reason why we were here today. To celebrate exactly that.

Just as I was having these thoughts, I saw Amali coming towards me. God, she was so beautiful. The light illuminated her from behind and it seemed as if she had a halo. She was now wearing her hair down. It waved loosely over her shoulders and blew in the light breeze that carried the scent of lilacs and roses. Amali held the gathered fabric of her dress in one hand as she came closer, her hips swaying.

"There you are! Are you all right?" she asked, giving me a quick kiss before glancing into the stroller at our peacefully sleeping baby.

"Of course. I just wanted to soak it all up. It turned out perfectly, baby girl." I replied softly and put my free arm around her so that I could pull her close to me.

As always when she was near me, I could feel the sparks between us, the tingling that always accompanied us both.

Amali sighed as she cuddled up to me. But she didn't miss the opportunity to run her hands over my bottom. The teasing never really went away and I hoped it would always stay that way.

"You're right... It's perfect." she whispered.

For a few minutes longer we enjoyed our little bubble where it was just us. But eventually we heard Waylon and Kingsley come running over to us with Jojo in tow.

"Are you all right?" I asked.

"Sure. Grandma wants to know where you've gone," said Joelle, taking it into her hands to push her sister now.

"No, it's more important that she said it's time for cake," Waylon said, his eyes sparkling.

"Come on, guys! Cake! Grandma won't let us have anything until you've cut it," his brother added to remind us of the urgency.

We couldn't help but laugh. What these two wouldn't do for something sweet. Not that I could blame them. After all, they got it from me.

"Come on then!" replied Amali.

Jojo pushed the baby stroller with Lilac back to the party while the boys hurried ahead. Amali followed them a few steps before turning to me.

She tilted her head to one side and looked at me with a wondering look. Then she held out her hand. Smiling, she waited for me to take it in mine. And that was exactly what I did. Together we walked back to our family.

Amali clung to my arm and I pressed a kiss to her hair. Then she looked up at me to give me that special smile that took me back to our first encounter.

Even then I knew how truly special it was. And today I knew how special the woman who owned that smile was and how she had won my heart.
