Chapter 11: Granted Wish

Last time, Pokémon Hunter J attempted to turn the Eevee to stone, but Serena jumped in the way and got hit instead. When Ash and the others arrived, as a result of Serena's affection, the Eevee evolved into a Sylveon. Now, they are prepared to fight J.

While Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Torchic, Piplup, Heracross, Bunelby, Meowstic, Elekid, Fennekin, and Sylveon standby, their Trainer's discuss a plan.

BARRY: I vote all out on those two!

ASH: Wait, Barry! We need to get Serena out of the battle first. A move might hit her, and...

No one finished the thought.

CALEM: We need to act now! Meowstic, Psychic on Serena and move her over here!

The Pokémon's eyes turn blue, and Serena is outlined in the color as she is moved over to a safe area, where the battle won't reach.

J: True Pokémon Trainers must watch the battle raging around them! Salamence, Flamethrower on all of them. Drapion, take the girl back from the Meowstic!

Thick smoke is created when the Dragon-type uses Flamethrower on all of the Pokémon, and, using that as a distraction, Drapion picks up the stone sculpture of Serena in its claws. As the smoke clears, the group finds Serena in hostage again.

J: Now, kids, be good and don't attack or the girl gets hit, too!

ASH: *Yells* Let Serena go, you dirty-

As Ash starts charging at J, Dawn grabs his arm at the last second.

DAWN: Ash, what are you doing? That's too reckless and dangerous!

Meanwhile, Serena is fearfully watching through the stone eyes of the statue, wishing she knew how to return to normal. Then, a strange voice entered her mind.

VOICE: You wish for the answer?

SERENA: *Thinks* The- the answer... Yes, yes I- I do! Please, tell me!

VOICE: Wish granted. The key is Hidden Power.

SERENA: *Thinks* Well, that was strange... But I'll ponder that later! "The key is Hidden Power"... Hidden Power, like the move? If it's used on me... I got it! Sylveon is the Intertwining Pokémon. I have a feeling if my thoughts are strong enough, she will be able to sense and interpret them. And I know Fennekin knows Hidden Power! I need to concentrate!

Finally uncovering her role, Serena calms herself and begins to think deeply.

SERENA: *Thinks* Sylveon, PLEASE. I need you!

Right then, Sylveon perks up and starts communicating with the group's Pokémon.

SYLVEON: Sylveon! Sylv Sylveon, Veon!

PIKACHU: *To Ash* Pika! Pika Pikachu, Pi! (Fennekin's going to save Serena!)

ASH: Wha- what? How?!

BARRY: Ash, translation, please! We don't have a clue on what's going on!

ASH: Apparently, Sylveon found a way to turn her back to normal, and told Fennekin to do something. I wonder what?

FENNEKIN: *Forms Hidden Power* Fen... FENNEKIN!

The purple sphere travels towards Serena, still in the Drapion's clutches.

J: That's... Oh no, Salamence, block it!

But it's too late- the Hidden Power collides with Serena.
