Chapter 67: Flying... Psyducks?

First is my apology (despite the silly title name)

A lot has been happening the past couple of weeks, resulting in my lack of updating. A lot of drama has been going on between my and my friends and my volleyball team and I just won a huge tournament today. Ma friends and I are all good, though. Sorry for the lazy writing today.

Now for the story you've all been waiting for!

Serena wakes in her own bed, exhausted and limbs aching.

SERENA: *Thinks immediately* Where's Ash? I guess if I'm safe, he is, too.

Just then, Ash walks in through the door.

ASH: Serena, you're awake! We were all starting to get worried.

He walks over to the side of her bed and embraces her, joyful that the last threat is gone.

(A/N: Want me to repeat? "The last threat is gone." Hint hint.)

SERENA: Why? How long was I out?

ASH: Uhhhh... three months, kind of.

SERENA: WHAT THE FLYING PSYDUCKS- THREE MONTHS?!

(Me: don't ask about the flying Psyducks part- I have no idea where that came from. I'M SORRY I JUST HAD TO PUT IT IN THE TITLE!)

ASH: Calm down, I was just kidding. But you have been out for a full day.

SERENA: *Glares at Ash and hits him with her pillow* So what happened?

ASH: After you fainted, Calem and Miette scurried off somewhere under the cover of Smokescreen. We haven't found them yet.

SERENA: Didn't you guys go after them?

ASH: No. It obvious that one, they will never show their faces in public again in fear of prison. Two, you scared the hell out of them.

SERENA: *Sweatdrops* Did I really... Anyways, where are the others?

ASH: I just texted them that you woke up. They should be-

GROUP: *Busts into her bedroom* SERENA!!!

BARRY: Holy Arceus you were so badass!

TREVOR: They were so scared!

SHAUNA: Yeah, that was really cool!

DAWN: I agree!

CLEMONT: Your battling tactics were amazing, it's true.

MAY: We aren't talking about her tactics, we are talking about how awesome she was. But I guess you're right.

KENNY: It was kind of hilarious and hysterical all at once. Funny 'cause they ran away, and crazy 'cause you fainted.

TIERNO: Ha, Barry almost cried.

BARRY: *Embarrassed* Uh- I- I did not!

Serena's mother comes in.

GRACE: Serena, I've heard a lot from Officer Jenny and your friends. I'm sure you're fine, since you always are in these dangerous situations.

SERENA: I guess so. It was less dangerous yesterday, though, because it was only Calem and Miette.

DAWN: Not true! Calem had a freaking Mega Houndoom! He was just about to destroy the whole place!

SERENA: Well...

KENNY: You saved a lot of people, too.

SERENA: But weren't they all evacuated? You know, before the Mega Evolution?

MAY: Kind of. The people in the restaurant were panicking, and they decided it would be safer to stay indoors. But they didn't know the full power of a Mega Evolved Pokémon.

CLEMONT: So, it is safe to say that the people in the restaurant underestimated the power, and assumed it wouldn't be able to destroy a building as large as the one they were in.

Serena blushes sheepishly.

ASH: So yeah. You saved lots. And if you lost...

He clears his throat.

ASH: I'm not sure if even I would be strong enough to defeat him.

Laughing, Serena grabs Ash's shoulders and pulls him into an embrace, right in front of everyone's eyes.

SERENA: Don't be so hard on yourself. Just because I can control this weird aura thing, you're probably a better battler than I will ever be.

EVERYONE: SO CUTE!

ASH, SERENA: *Blushes* WHY THE FLYING PSYDUCKS ARE YOU WATCHING US?!
