Chapter 19: Ash and Serena's Date

This chapter may be a little bit longer than usual, I have to fit this all in one chapter. Enjoy Ash and Serena's Date!

Last time, May took Ash to shop for a tuxedo and Dawn took Serena to a Boutique for a beautiful dress. The group introduced themselves to Serena's mother. While Ash came back looking nice, Serena's just coming down the stairs with Fennekin.

Everyone gasps.

Serena blushes a little and looks down. She's wearing a sleeveless, pink dress with another layer of red and black from her waist down and white gloves. A red ribbon is attached on the collar at front of her dress, and Serena's also wearing a black, ribbon choker necklace. Her honey hair is down, and she added pink earrings to finish the outfit. Fennekin's wearing a red and pink laced ribbon at its neck. Ruby colored pearls decorate Fennekin's tail, and the Pokémon is wearing a cute little white hat with a pink ribbon wrapped around it.

CLEMONT: You two look nice!

SERENA: Aw, thanks! Did you hear that, Fennekin?

FENNEKIN: Fen, Fennekin! (Yes! Thank you!)

MAY: Those outfits match perfectly! Where did you get Fennekin's?

SERENA: I made it a while ago when I was in Kalos. We had some art supplies in the house.

ASH: *Smiles* You look great, Serena!

PIKACHU: *Gives thumbs up (if he can)* Pika! (I agree!)

SERENA: *Blushes* Aw, thanks, Ash and Pikachu!

DAWN: My mom should be just outside down. Let's go, guys!

GRACE: You look gorgeous. *Kisses Serena on the forehead* Have fun!

Everyone loads into Johanna's car and Grace waves them off. Once they arrive at the restaurant, Johanna stops the car.

BARRY: *Snickers a little* Have a nice dinner, ya two lovebirds!

DAWN: *Pinches Barry's arm* Don't tease them!

MAY: Yeah, enjoy yourselves!

And with that, Ash and Serena are dropped off. Ash walks up to the door and opens and holds it for Serena.

ASH: *Makes a gesture* After you.

SERENA: *Giggles* Such a gentleman!

Once they confirm the reservation, Ash and Serena sit down at their table. At the beginning, it's silent and a little bit awkward.

ASH: *Fiddles with his hands* Sorry, I'm not very good at this. This is my first date.

SERENA: *Smiles* It's fine.

The waiter arrives to take their orders. Ash orders a steak with baked potatoes (yum) and Serena orders pasta with Bolognese sauce (also yum). The waiter leaves.

ASH: So, Serena. Have you heard of the new neighborhood that's opening up around our area? All the kids that are going to move there will be attending our school.

SERENA: I didn't know that. Now, there's going to be more classes.

ASH: Yeah.

They wait in silence until their food comes. Unlike his usual self, Ash eats slowly and politely, and the same with Pikachu.

ASH: I'm glad this restaurant allows Pokémon. Pikachu hates being stuck in its Poké ball.

SERENA: Really? Why?

ASH: Yeah, why is that, Pikachu?

PIKACHU: *Shrugs* Pika Pi, Pikachu Pika! (I dunno, I just don't!)

FENNEKIN: Fen, Fennekin Fenne Fen. (That's weird, I've never seen someone like that.)

SERENA: *Looks to Ash* Translation, please?

ASH: Pikachu for some reason doesn't know why it hates its Poké ball, and Fennekin is saying Pikachu is weird.

Ash and Serena start laughing. Then, the four finish their meals. 

ASH: How about we check out and go outside for a bit? Fresh air won't hurt.

SERENA: Alright. By the way, when are they coming to pick us up?

ASH: They told me to text them, but not now.

Ash pays for their meal, and with Pikachu on his shoulder again, stands up. Serena picks up Fennekin and does the same. They all walk outside, and Ash leads them to a garden nearby, where no one can see them through the thick leaves of the bushes.

ASH: Pikachu, hand it to me.

Pikachu takes off his little hat, and inside it is a small jewelry box. With a "Pika, Pika", Pikachu hands over the box to Ash, who then offers it to Serena.

ASH: *Blushes and scratches the back of his head* Here. For you.

Serena looks inside and sees the most beautiful ribbon necklace with a golden citrine gemstone hanging at the bottom, shaped in a diamond. Fennekin peeks over Serena's shoulder.

SERENA: *Blushes* Ash... I don't know what to say... It's stunning!

ASH: Not as stunning as you.

Ash leans over to Serena and kisses her on the lips. At first, Serena is surprised, but quickly starts kissing back. Pikachu and Fennekin start running and jumping with joy at the sight of the two. Ash takes out the citrine necklace.

ASH: *Smiling* Serena, will you be my girlfriend?

SERENA: *Blushes* Of course! How could I say no?

And with that, Ash places the beautiful necklace over Serena's head and on her neck.

ASH: *Smiles* Let's go. They're coming to pick us up now.

SERENA: Yeah. Let's.
