Chapter 65: Mega Against Aura

GUESS WHAT LAST THURSDAY WAS?!?!?!?!?!?!?

IT WAS ME BIRTHDAY, APRIL 7TH! YAY! AND SO I TRIED TO FIND TIME TO UPDATE BECAUSE IT WAS ME BIRTHDAY AND I CAN DO WHATEVS I WANT ON MY BIRTHDAY (not really) BUT I HAD STUFF GOING ON SO I COULDN'T! SOWWY T^T

ASH, SERENA: Uh happy birthday to you...

DAWN, KENNY: Happy birthday to you!

BARRY: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR AUTHOR-NAMED-ASTRID-OR-THE-DREAM-RIDER.....

REST: Happy birthday to you!

SERENA: *Thinks* I've now used my aura to power both myself and Sylveon up considerably. We're definitely a match for Calem and his Mega Houndoom, if we weren't before.

CALEM: *Sarcastic* So what?! You've "called on your strength." Oh, and glowing lights! Your Fennekin probably pulled off a stunt. I'm completely convinced.

ASH: *Shouts* Hey, shut up! You'll see, she's going to kick your sorry butt!

MIETTE: Ah, Slurpuff. Keep my dear Ash silent for a while. Disarming Voice!

PIKACHU: Pika, Pika! (No way!) *Uses Thunderbolt*

SERENA: *Confident* I won't hold back! Sylveon, Swift!

All everyone sees is a blur of blue, pink, and white in the smoke. The Pokémon zooms to a different location- to be exact, directly behind Houndoom. She suddenly jumps, backflips, and twirls, shooting the brilliant stars at the surprised Houndoom.

The move collides with its body, and Houndoom is thrown forward severely.

SERENA: *Commands* Sylveon, follow it up with Fairy Wind!

SYLVEON: Sylveon! (Of course) *Propels ribbons to create a breeze*

The breeze turns into wind and it blasts Houndoom to the side, as Fairy-type moves are super-effective against Dark-types.

SERENA: *Shouts* Surround it!

The wind begins to form a container of wind around Houndoom while the Pokémon snarls in outrage.

CALEM: *Sneers* So it wasn't a ruse? That's some strong and quick Sylveon you've got there. Maybe after I win, I'll take it!

SERENA: Idiot! That's not where its strength derives from!

CALEM: Houndoom, Inferno!

SERENA: *Smirks and thinks* I thought so. Sylveon, up.

Houndoom roars and expels the intense flames from its mouth, spinning and extinguishing all of the surrounding air currents. But what it doesn't realize is that Sylveon is above.

SERENA: GO!

The agile Pokémon lands on the other's back. It lashes its ribbons around Houndoom's horns and hangs on as the latter struggles and attempts to throw the attacker off.

CALEM: Calm down! Sludge Bomb, straight up!

SERENA: What?! You taught it a Poison-type move?! Sylveon, off!

CALEM: Oh, is that surprising? Follow it up with Flamethrower!

The two moves zoom towards the airborne Sylveon, and time seems to stop before it hits.

SERENA: *Thinks* There's no time to use any offensive moves, and Sylveon will be hit without a doubt. Additionally, both Sludge Bomb and Flamethrower have the chance of poisoning and burning their target. So, my best choice of action...

Time resumes...

SERENA: Misty Terrain!

The move which had once been only used intentionally for performances now appears at the battlefield.

ASH: *Murmurs* Smart move. Misty Terrain prevents every Pokémon in the field from receiving status effects.

Houndoom seems to be startled, but nevertheless carries on with its onslaught. It was inevitable, but at least the least damage was taken.

SERENA: Sylveon! C'mon, I know you can stand!

The Pokémon jumps back on its feet with a surprising amount of energy.

SERENA: *Thinks* Just wait, Ash... This will all be done and over soon!
