Chapter 68: Dawn and Kenny?!

DAWN: *Nudges Kenny and whispers* Hey, should we tell 'em?

KENNY: *Blushes a little* Sure... I guess.

MAY, SHAUNA: *Swiggling eyebrows* Tell us WHAAAAAAAT?

KENNY: Well, uh, me and Dawn, uh, are, well-

DAWN: We're dating!

MAY: HA, KNEW IT! Barry, you owe me five! Pay up!

May outstretched her hand, grinning ridiculously. Barry sighs, exasperated.

BARRY: Darn it. *Hands May five Pokécash? What???*

May, pleased with herself, shows off her prize.

TREVOR: Barry, you just can't keep up with girl power.

BARRY: Sh- Shaddup!

The group laughs, happy that everything is finally normal again...

TIERNO: Hey it'd be cool if you guys went on a double date. Chill out from what happened.

EVERYONE: Double... date?

SERENA: *Admits* That would be ideal... but what about the rest of you guys?

CLEMONT: Don't worry, we'll just hang out. Go enjoy yourselves!

ASH, SERENA, KENNY, DAWN: Thanks! We will!

Again, the ladies change upstairs, and the gentleman downstairs. Ash and Kenny exit their rooms, all suited up nicely, as they await their partners.

ASH: That was pretty sudden, wasn't it?

KENNY: You mean our dating?

ASH: Yeah. All in a day!

KENNY: Heh... Guess so.

SERENA, DAWN: We're done!

They descend the steps. Serena wears the same gown as she did their first date, while Dawn wears a sapphire blue gown, with white gloves.

ASH: You look beautiful, Serena.

KENNY: Dawn, as do you.

DAWN: Wow, no need to be so proper, Kenny. *Blushes anyways*

MAY, SHAUNA: SHIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH *faints*

EVERYONE: ...

SERENA: Err, shall we go, then?

DAWN: So, where are we going?

The car rolls steadily down the newly paved road, and, night befalling, the lights shine through the windows. Though the source of the brightness is not a street lamp or such, and only the moon, rising slowly.

ASH: You'll see when we get there.

SERENA: Wait, so our Pokémon are resting up in the meanwhile?

KENNY: Yep. It's good.

DAWN: Gosh, I can't wait. You guys literally can't tell us?

KENNY: 'Tis a secret, Dawn. Patience is a virtue!

DAWN: Well, I don't have that kind of patience!

KENNY: *Laughs* Well, that's too bad.

DAWN: *Yells* But Kenny!

KENNY: *Exaggerated mimic* But Dawn!

Ash and Serena smile at the couple next to them.

SERENA: Ash, I swear I just heard May or Shauna whisper 'couple quarrel.'

ASH: For Arceus' sake, I hope you're hallucinating. I really really don't want them to sneak up on us or something.

SERENA: *Slaps her cheeks* I'm awake.

Ash turns around in a full circle (or tries to in his seat), looking for signs of May and Shauna in the passing cars.

DAWN: Literally. Sometimes I feel like those two have fallen for love itself.

ASH: *Sweat drops* I... actually would not be surprised.

SERENA: *Laughs a little* Yeah, we need to stop them. We need to set them up for dates.

KENNY: Agreed...

DAWN: I feel bad for you two. You've been experiencing May and Shauna's stalker issues for way longer than we have.

ASH, SERENA: You got that right.

GRACE: But they're just encouraging you!

SERENA: *Embarrassed* Mom!

GRACE: It's only the truth! By the way, we've arrived. Enjoy yourselves, dears!
