Chapter 20: Meet Up

Last time, Ash and Serena went out on their date. After they finished their meals, Ash lead Serena to a private place in a garden nearby. There, he gave Serena a ribbon necklace with a diamond shaped citrine gemstone attached to it. Ash and Serena kissed, and Ash asked Serena to be his girlfriend, to which she accepted.

Ash and Serena are picked up by the rest of the group.

DAWN: So... how did it go?

SERENA: It was great!

MAY: *Notices the citrine necklace* Hey, Serena, where'd you get that pretty necklace? You didn't have it on when you left.

ASH: *Slings arm around Serena* A gift from me, actually.

SERENA: Guess what? We're dating!

Everyone in the car bursts with excitement, and the vehicle is full of noise every second of the ride.

CLEMONT: That's so sweet of you to give that beautiful necklace as your first present to your new girlfriend!

BARRY: Totally awesome! I'm happy for you!

DAWN, MAY: You guys would make the CUTEST COUPLE EVER!

ASH, SERENA: *Sweat drops* Yeah, thanks.

One by one, the group gets dropped off at their houses until Ash, Serena, and Dawn are the only ones still in the car.

DAWN: Since you two are basically neighbors, my mom's going to leave you here, okay?

ASH: Right!

SERENA: Thank you, miss.?

JOHANNA: Just call me Johanna. Bye, kids!

Ash and Serena are alone on the sidewalk. Before leaving, Serena gives Ash a quick peck on the cheek and walks towards her house.

SERENA: See you tomorrow, Ash!

ASH: Okay, see you!

The next day.

GRACE: Serena, I heard that people are moving into the new neighborhood already. Some of the kids are probably going to be at your school today.

SERENA: Yeah, Ash told me about that yesterday.

GRACE: Alright, sweetie, have another good day at school! Tell your friends they're welcome to come over anytime to just hangout!

Like yesterday morning, Ash, Serena, Dawn, May, Clemont, and Barry all join up and start walking to school together.

SERENA: *Hugs Ash* Morning, Ash, Pikachu!

ASH: *Hugs back* Good morning, Serena!

PIKACHU: Pika! (Hey!)

DAWN, MAY: Aw, so cute!

ASH, SERENA: *Sweat drops* Can you, like, cut that out already?!

Everyone laughs as they start racing each other to school. Then, the group hears a voice.

GIRL: Serena? Serena, is that you?!

SERENA: Huh? SHAUNA?!

SHAUNA: *Hugs Serena* It's so nice to see you again! I knew you were moving to Kanto, but I never expected to move to the school you attend!

SERENA: I can't believe you're here! Wait... Are Tierno and Trevor here too, then?

SHAUNA: Yeah, they moved over, but they aren't finished unpacking and everything so they stayed home today.

ASH: *Confused* Uhhh... Serena, mind telling us who this is?

SERENA: *Blushes* Oh! Sorry. Shauna was a friend I had in Kalos. We went to the same school, and all. Okay, Shauna, this is Ash, Dawn, May, Clemont, and Barry.

Serena points to them in order.

SHAUNA: It's nice to meet you all! Say, is Ash your boyfriend?

SERENA: Actually, yes, he is!

SHAUNA: Oh, that reminds me! You know that guy who had a major crush on you, and how he moved to Kanto a long time ago?

SERENA: Yeah?

SHAUNA: Well, I just learned that he goes here.

At that moment, Serena just processed what Shauna said. Then she realized...

SERENA: *Covers hand over mouth* Oh my Arceus, what was his name?

SHAUNA: *Thinks for a bit* I believe it starts with a C. Hmm... Lemme think... *Snaps fingers* Calem! Yeah, it's Calem!
