Chapter 56: Red-Handed

I think this was the latest update in the history of all my late updates. Sorry! But the Chapter has finally come, so enjoy! (Btw, I jump around a lot everywhere in this Chap. You gotta follow closely xD)

MIETTE: Where are they? C'mon...

SERENA: Eh? Ah, Miette! Over here!

Serena and Ash jog over to Miette.

MIETTE: Long time no see, Ash, Serena! How have you been?

SERENA: *Holds in her scoff, thinking* She definitely isn't genuine; her voice sounds a little off, a little strained. I'll just have to go along with it, just as Dawn and the others said.

ASH: Great, thanks! How 'bout we go to the food court first?

SERENA, MIETTE: Sure!

To the food courts! (And now I'm getting hungry :3)

ASH: *Mouth full* Shish ish delishus!

Serena and Miette sweat drop.

SERENA: Welcome to Chinese food...

Miette laughs, but again, it sounds forced.

MIETTE: Hey, after we eat, let's go to the PokéMarket. We just have to go on the second floor.

ASH: *Gulps down food* Thas a gud idea. Lesh go!

SERENA, MIETTE: *Sweat drop* Swallow your food!

To the PokéMarket!

ASH: Perfect. I really need to stock up on Potions. We're running out.

SERENA: Huh? By the way, Ash, where's Pikachu?

ASH: He was pretty tired from the training last night, so I let him take a break. Pretty sure Clemont- with Bonnie- is taking care of it. I left out some ketchup.

SERENA: Why ketchup, exactly-?

ASH: *Shrugs* Don' ask me. Dunno.

They continue to search the shelves for the items they want. They pay for them and leave the shop.

MIETTE: Oh! I heard there's this really yummy ice cream shop nearby. Soft serve. Why don't we go there? It's close by, and it's humid outside.

ASH: Sure, why not? I could use some ice cream, too.

Serena nods.

SERENA: Alright, let's go!

To the ice cream shop! (Yum :3)

SERENA: *Admits* You weren't lying when you said yummy ice cream.

A crunchy, waffle cone with three generous scoops of vanilla, chocolate, and mint ice cream, dipped in thick chocolate. Rainbow sprinkles decorate the dessert- nice and refreshing.

(My mouth is watering...)

MIETTE: *Phone rings* Eh- oh, sorry, guys. Please excuse me for a moment, gotta take this.

After she walks off, Serena furrows her brows.

SERENA: "Please excuse me"?

ASH: What was that, Serena?

SERENA: O- oh, it's nothing. Just talking to myself.

With Miette

???: Are they there?

MIETTE: Yeah. Everything's set up, nice and neat.

???: Good. Did they look like they are suspicious of you?

MIETTE: Well...

???: Well, what?

MIETTE: Nevermind. It's nothing, they aren't.

???: Alright. I'm on my way.

MIETTE: Don't keep me waiting.

???: *Laughs* Of course.

And the call ends.

MIETTE: Part one is a success. Now I just gotta get back-

"Get back to who?"

When Miette turns around, she sees Serena standing there, arms crossed, a frown on her face.

When did she get here?!

MIETTE: *Nervously* Oh! Serena! I just finished. Why don't we get back to Ash-

SERENA: *Cold* Hold it.

Miette stops moving.

MIETTE: Um, yeah? *Tries again* Serena, let's just leave now-

SERENA: *Interrupts* Who were you speaking to?

MIETTE: I- I'm sorry to tell you that it's none of your business-

SERENA: It is, actually. And mind telling me...

Serena steps forward menacingly, while Miette, startled, backs up bit by bit.

SERENA: Who are "they"?
