John's POV
Over the next few months, Tommy continued to make progress. He excelled in school, made friends, and became more confident. John celebrated every milestone, no matter how small, reinforcing Tommy's sense of self-worth and achievement.
One evening, John decided to celebrate Tommy's progress with a special dinner. He cooked Tommy's favorite meal and baked a cake. They sat down together, and John raised his glass of sparkling cider.
"To Tommy, for being the bravest, strongest boy I know. I'm so proud of you."
Tommy blushed but smiled, feeling a warmth in his heart that he hadn't felt in a long time. "Thank you, Dad."
John's eyes filled with tears, and he hugged Tommy tightly. "You're welcome, son. You deserve all the happiness in the world."
