Tommy's POV

The first snow of December dusted the ground as Tommy stared out the window, marveling at the winter wonderland forming outside. He could feel the excitement bubbling inside him—this was his first Christmas with John and Lily, and everything felt magical.

"Tommy, come help us with the decorations!" Lily's cheerful voice called from the living room.

Tommy hurried to join them, finding John untangling a string of twinkling lights while Lily sorted through a box of ornaments. The Christmas tree, standing tall in the corner, was waiting to be adorned.

"Do you want to hang the first ornament?" Lily asked, holding out a glittery star.

Tommy's eyes lit up as he took the star carefully. "Where should I put it?"

"Anywhere you like," John said, smiling warmly. "There's no wrong spot."

Tommy placed the star on a branch near the top, stepping back to admire his work. "It looks good there, right?"

Lily nodded approvingly. "It looks perfect. You've got a good eye for this."

John's POV

John watched as Tommy's excitement grew with each ornament he hung. There was something special about this moment, about sharing their family traditions with Tommy. It was clear that these simple activities meant the world to him.

"Tommy, did you know that we have a tradition of making our own ornaments each year?" John asked, handing Tommy a small paintbrush and a plain wooden snowflake. "We started it when with my wife and I first got married. Every year, we add a new one to the tree, and after she died I liked to keep that tradition going ,"

Tommy's eyes widened as he looked at the snowflake. "Can I make one too?"

"Of course!" Lily said, pulling out a set of paints. "This year, you're part of the tradition. We can paint them together."

Tommy's POV

As they sat around the table, Tommy focused on painting his snowflake, carefully choosing colors and patterns. The warmth of the room, the soft hum of Christmas music, and the feeling of being part of something so special made him feel more at home than ever before.

"This is so much fun," Tommy said, his voice filled with happiness. "I've never done anything like this before."

John smiled, watching Tommy's careful brushstrokes. "It's one of my favorite parts of Christmas. Each ornament tells a story. Years from now, we'll look at this snowflake and remember this moment."

Lily added, "And you'll have lots of stories to add to our tree. This is just the beginning."

Tommy grinned as he finished his ornament. "I hope we can keep doing this every year. It makes Christmas feel even more special."

John's POV

John felt a deep sense of contentment as they finished decorating the tree. Seeing Tommy embrace their family traditions with such enthusiasm filled his heart with joy. This wasn't just about decorating a tree—it was about creating memories, building a sense of belonging, and sharing the love that defined their family.

As they stepped back to admire the fully decorated tree, John placed an arm around Tommy's shoulders. "This tree is more beautiful than ever. It's not just about the ornaments or the lights—it's about the memories we've made together."

Tommy looked up at John, his eyes shining with happiness. "I'm really glad I'm part of this. It's the best Christmas I've ever had."

Lily smiled, pulling them both into a hug. "And we're so glad you're here, Tommy. You've made this Christmas even more special."

Together, they stood in front of the tree, basking in the warmth of the moment, knowing that they had just created a new family tradition that would last a lifetime.
