Tommy's POV
Tommy's heart raced with excitement as he stepped off the stage. The applause still echoed in his ears, and the pride he felt was unlike anything he'd experienced before. He scanned the room, his eyes quickly finding John and Lily, who were clapping enthusiastically from their seats.
As soon as he reached them, Lily pulled him into a warm hug. "Tommy, you were incredible up there! You spoke with so much confidence. I'm so proud of you!"
Tommy smiled, a mix of relief and happiness washing over him. "Thanks, Lily. I was really nervous, but I just focused on what you and John told me—to speak from my heart."
John placed a hand on Tommy's shoulder, his expression filled with pride. "And it showed. You really owned that stage, Tommy. This is a huge milestone for you."
Tommy beamed, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "I couldn't have done it without you both. All the practice and encouragement really helped."
John's POV
John looked at Tommy with a deep sense of pride. This moment was more than just a successful presentation—it was a testament to how far Tommy had come. He could see the confidence in Tommy's eyes, a stark contrast to the shy, uncertain boy he had met months ago.
"Tonight, we celebrate," John said, a warm smile spreading across his face. "How about we head out for a special dinner? Your choice, Tommy."
Tommy's face lit up with excitement. "Can we go to that Italian place we went to before? The one with the huge pizzas?"
Lily chuckled. "That sounds perfect. We'll make it a night to remember."
Tommy's POV
As they left the school and headed to the restaurant, Tommy felt like he was on top of the world. The evening air was crisp, and the lights of the city twinkled around them. Everything felt magical, like he was living a dream he never wanted to end.
When they arrived at the restaurant, they were greeted warmly by the staff, who recognized them from their previous visits. They were seated at a cozy corner table, and Tommy eagerly scanned the menu.
"I think I'm going to get the biggest pizza they have," Tommy said with a grin. "We can all share it!"
John laughed, nodding in agreement. "Sounds like a plan. Tonight, we're going all out."
As they waited for their food, the conversation turned to the presentation. Lily leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with pride. "Tommy, what was going through your mind when you were up there? You seemed so calm and collected."
Tommy thought for a moment, then shrugged with a small smile. "At first, I was really scared. But then I looked out and saw you both, and it made me feel like I could do it. I just kept thinking, 'I'm not alone in this.'"
John's POV
John felt a swell of emotion at Tommy's words. "You're never alone, Tommy. We're here for you, every step of the way. And tonight, we're celebrating not just your presentation, but all the hard work and growth you've shown."
Tommy's smile widened. "I'm really happy. I never thought I'd feel this good about something like this."
Lily reached across the table and squeezed Tommy's hand. "You deserve every bit of it, Tommy. This is just the beginning of many more amazing things to come."
As the evening continued, their conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and shared memories. By the time the giant pizza arrived, they were all in high spirits, eager to dig in and enjoy the rest of their celebratory night together.
