A year had passed and Sae was now 16. Becoming a demon slayer was probably one of the best things she's done. She had met new and past hashira. She adored them all. Even went one missions with some of them. Each of them have their own opinions on Sae, as she does with them. Of course her crow, Tani, always has to talk about Sae as if she's the best. The hashira loath her crow, she never shuts up. The crow does say some truth though, Sae is skilled. Anyone can see that. Still.... not a hashira, people sometimes confuse her for one.

She would occasionally spend time with the demon slayers. For instance she would accompany Tengen and his wives to the city for shopping. His wives loved her, Sae could trust them with everything. On occasion Tengen would ask Sae to be his wife, sometimes being serious and other times not. Sae rejects him kindly as she does. His wives laugh at his attempts. They know something he doesn't. When it's just Sae and his wives they talk about everything and from what Tengen's wives noticed, Sae talks about Sanemi a lot. Sae doesn't know it but she likes him.

Sae will visit Sanemi when she can as he does with her. Sae has grown to see how he really is but that doesn't stop her from being around him. Everyone has a way of dealing with demons. Sae learned how to control her anger. So she understands how Sameni can be. If anything she gets along with him more than anyone, besides Kanae. Sanemi and Sae would go out to eat most days other days they spar together. He has his moments where he's very rude but Sae pays no mind to it. Everyone seems to notice that Sanemi listens to Sae. It's a rare sight but Sae will get mad and when she does Sanemi listens to her. As if she would kill him for not doing so. Though Sanemi may like Sae, his friend Obanai sure doesn't.

Obanai didn't think much of Sae at first just another demon slayer. However when he wants to check up on Mitsuri she's always busy with Sae. Before Sae came around he would see her more, but now he barely sees her. When he is fortunate enough to see Mitsuri, all she talks about is Sae. He gets easily annoyed by this, how can someone be talked about this much, when there's nothing special about them. He asks himself this all the time. Even Sanemi talks about her, just not as much. Obani's world is surrounded by one girl. Sae tries to make conversation with him but he easily ignores her. He couldn't care less if she's the master's daughter. He doesn't feel the need to associate with her.

Mitsuri However, loves Sae like an older sister. They met back when Sae would train with Rengoku. They hit it off right away. Almost being inseparable, where one girl is, the other is right there. Sae adored Mitsuri, she's so pure and full of light. Reminds her of Rengoku. They would mostly spend their time having tea and eating. Though Mitsuri would eat way more than Sae, but if you give Sae miso soup she'll eat many bowls.

Rengoku has always looked out for her. He still doesn't skip the chance to train with her more. Rengoku and Tengen always joke around with her when they can, acting like children. Rengoku likes to brag to Tengen that he's sees Sae smile all the time. To that Tengen says "Hey now Rengoku, just you wait in time she'll be another one of my wives and i'll get to see her smile all the time". Rengoku just rolls his eyes playfully. Rengoku likes to challenge Sae. Even on missions. Sae and Rengoku have been on missions together more than anyone. He never fails to put a smile on her face.

Gyomei only sees Sae when she's at the Ubuyusiki mansion. Sometimes he'll invite her over for some meditation sessions, which Sae appreciates. He's seen her grow over the years. Wondering how she became how she is. Wondering if she's strong enough to fight an upper moon. Wondering many things about this girl. She's still young but has potential. He often thinks how things would've been different if she wasn't saved that day. He adores how the master is with her.

Although Sae had become a demon slayer a year ago, and has had tough opponents, one demon will cause her heartache in the future. As of now Sae just left the butterfly mansion. She had to get her arm stitched up from her previous mission. She hadn't seen Kagaya in a while, so she thought since she has time she will stop and visit. It was night time, as she walked gracefully along the trail. There was a small cool breeze, the tree leaves dancing around, a little chirping of the bugs from all sides. Upon arriving she felt something familiar. She couldn't explain it but definitely a friendly feeling. Sadly she didn't see anyone in sight. Sae began walking again and announced herself. Amane was the first to greet her. "Glad to see you made it back Sae, unfortunately if you're here to see the master, he is already in bed". Sae was upset at first but decided she'll just say hello to her other children. "Not to worry Amane, I don't come here for just the master I come here for all of you". Amane smiles her heart feels warm. "Thank you sweet child, the others are in the other room if you'd like to see them". Sae nodded and set her sword down by the door. Once the children saw a glimpse of the girl's white hair they knew it was her. "Sae we are glad you came". One of them said with a small smile. "I'm glad to see you both, i'm only here for a moment then I have to go". One of the children look at Sae's haori, noticing it's torn in a few places. "Sae if you wouldn't mind i'd like to take your haori". Sae hummed in confusion. "It's torn, i'd like to stitch it up for you". Sae took off her haori and folded it and gave it to the child. "I appreciate it very much". The child looked at her. "It'll be a few hours, for now you can use this extra haori we have for you, I think it'll work for now". Sae grabbed the dark blue haori from the other child. "Thank you i'll be sure to take care of it".
