Here I am, standing at his door. Why is this so hard, all I have to do is knock on the door, but then what? Exactly what do I say, I know he's mad but he's going to have to get over it. I raise my hand a knock twice on the door and wait. A few minutes had passed and I was about to knock again until he opened the door.

"Sanemi, I was just coming to see how you were doing. Would you like to join me for some breakfast"? I asked as nicely as I could before he blows up on me.

He didn't say a word so instead he grabbed my hand and lead us inside to his kitchen. I sat down on the floor by the table while he went to grab something from his kitchen. A few minutes went and he came back with a tray of food. Is he even mad anymore? Or is he just giving me the silent treatment? He kept looking at me like he was going to say something but he would stop himself. Sanemi brought each of us a cup of tea and split the food between the both of us.

I tried to make conversation but he would only talk in short sentences. It doesn't seem like he wants me here but at the same time it's like he doesn't want me to leave. He's doing everything possible to make sure i'm comfortable. He even keeps asking if i'm still hungry.

Once we finished our food I thanked him. I was about to head out to train when he stopped me and opened the door, once again grabbing my hand and leading us to the training area. So he does want me with him, but he doesn't want to talk? I spared with a dummy while Sanemi was watching me from afar. It's odd he would normally spar with me or at least with a dummy, he seems lost in thought.

I hit the dummy over and over with my sword, switching positions, controlling my breathing. As I train I can feel myself get stronger and stronger, I have to. I need to save the ones I care about even if it kills me, even if I can't fight them all, I have to kill every demon that would dare to hurt innocent people.

As of now my perspective on the demons has changed, Nezuko helped me see that there is good. Lady Tamayo helped me understand their urges and feelings. However, that one demon who came to visit me, had no good intentions whatsoever. His bloodlust makes me sick, the way he looked at me with craving eyes and that sick smile. His voice was a never ending echo, the words he spoke made my skin crawl.

I must have been too much in thought because I noticed the dummy I was hitting broke into pieces. I sighed, I can't let myself get distracted. I have to keep a clear mind, even when training. Sanemi must have noticed caused he was standing at my side.

"I think the dummy is dead dummy, geez what's got you so worked up"?
He asked curiously.

"Just had a long few days, that's all. I think I just need to relax for a bit, if you don't mind, i'm going to go home. I need to sort some things out". I say as I put my sword away.

"What sort of things"? He asked.

"Sanemi....". I sigh, not this again.

"....Im sorry"

I didn't expect him to say that. He looks at me straight in the eye and I can see that he really meant it.

"It's okay Sanemi, I understand".

"I know, you know how I am so... i'm sorry for... being a dumbass". A smile spread across my face.

"I appreciate that. And I should really get home, i'd like to rest up before a new mission begins". He nodded and grab ahold of my hand once again, leading me to the front door. But he didn't stop there, he began walking with me to my house.

"Sanemi, you don't have to walk me home. I'm completely fine".

He mumbles something I can't quite hear. Holding my hand even tighter, eyes focused ahead.

"I'm just making sure you get home safe, idiot". I smile once again.

"How thoughtful of you". I can see a faint red fill his face and he tries to look away.

Once we get to my house he says goodnight, then bows. Inside my home is quiet and warm. No sign of Genya still, I hope he's alright.

A few days had passed and Sanemi hasn't left me alone. Every morning he's waiting outside my door. We spend most of our days scouting near by areas until one of us has a mission. He's been with me through it all, sometimes we talk and most of the time we don't speak. It's like that, until nightfall, he'll walk me home and say goodnight. And the next day it's the same.

We were scouting a nearby area, on our way back home. It was quiet, peaceful. I enjoyed our little routine, it was nice having Sanemi by my side. That was until...

"I'm afraid you can't follow me this time, Sanemi. Don't worry, i'll be back soon". I gave him a smile of reassurance.

"You'll be just fine. Get going you, idiot", I turned my back to just as he said. "Come back to me in one piece".

A smirk appeared on my face at his comment as I started running to my destination. Tani flew close by my side, this mission must be urgent if she's still flying close by.

"Tani, what's the situation"? I asked still focused on by breathing as I ran.

Thats not good to hear, the Mizunoto is the lowest rank of a demon slayer. I just hope no one's too hurt. Then it makes me wonder if Shinobu will be there. Just then I hear another set of footsteps. They were calm and calculated. Giyuu.

"Seems like we are going on another mission together". He says with that familiar emotionless expression.

"It seems so. Makes me feel better knowing you have my back". I admit to him.

"Shinobu will get there before we do. She was already nearby when she got the message". He informed me which made me feel a bit uneasy. Three Hashiras going on one mission?

"That's good to know". We ran all the way till we reached the mountain. As we walked up to the entrance we came to a stop.

"What do you say? You take the left I take the right"? I asked him wondering how he wants to do this.

"If that's what you want, i'm fine with it". He replied already heading to the left side of the mountain.

"See you in a few, Giyuu". I started walking to my side.

I could already feel a strong energy in this side of the forest. It's almost a sickly feeling, it gives me the creeps. I walked for about five minutes into the dark, waiting for anything or anyone to make themselves known.

That's when I sense a demon near. I follow the feeling of anger and fear, it takes me along the side of a river. Upon reaching where the feeling was the most intense, I set my eyes on a young...demon slayer? He was fighting a big and strong looking demon. It gives the impression of a spider, multiple eyes with long teeth and fangs.

As the demon seems distracted with the young demon slayer that wears a boar head, I breathe in deep, sword ready. Barely above a whisper I say, "Ice breathing, Ninth form, Striking Blizzard".
