Sage
The next day, I woke up to a smell that quickly became my favorite; Logan's masculine scent mixed with O-positive blood. I opened my eyes and the sight was spellbinding. The sun poured in from the floor-to-ceiling windows and Logan was making his way to me. He was a god in his own right. His hair was sweaty and his chest was exposed to me as he only had shorts on.
He placed a tray on my lap and kissed my forehead, "Good morning, Sunshine. Did you sleep well?"
I blushed, "Yes, I did." I traced a hand on his bare chest and he shivered, "Were you working out or training?"
He hummed and then responded, "Both?"
I gasped and playfully smacked his chest, "Why didn't you wake me? We could've practiced together."
He laughed, "You were deeply sleeping and it was my fault for keeping you up late. Besides, you barely need training anymore. You've taken control of your powers. You will be a force to be reckoned with."
I smiled, "Who told you I unlocked all my potential? There might be other abilities that I have and don't know about yet."
His smile faltered, "I... haven't thought about this," He brushed it off and continued, "Besides, it's the day after your wedding day and we still have your coronation today and the wedding party with everyone from Xerus and Icyln coming."
It was my smile that fell now, "The coronation. I forgot about that. Why do I always forget important dates?" I made the move to get up but Logan gripped my wrists and pinned them to the bed, "Eat. Now. We'll worry about the festivities later."
I took the glass and drank greedily and fast before Logan set the tray on my bedside table and started softly kissing my neck, shoulders, and wrists and I forgot that I was eating. I forgot about everything and closed my eyes against the sensation. It felt good being with my mate. He moved to my mouth, licked the remaining blood off my mouth and smirked when he saw me unravel before him and deepened the kiss. A shudder ran through me and I ran my hands along his chest. He stopped the kiss and stared at me, his face unreadable, but his emotions betrayed him. How did he move above me without me noticing?
"What?" I asked when he didn't break the silence.
"I can't believe it."
"Believe what?""You chose me after everything. You're here and we're married," He brushed his lips with mine before adding, "You're mine and not even death can tear us apart. I will find you. Always."
I caressed his cheek, a smile playing on my lips, "I did find my way back to you even after I died."
His expression looked playful, "Hmm," He kissed me, "True. Just know I'll defy every rule to be with you."
It was my turn to break the kiss. "A lot of my people are coming today. Why did I forget about this?"
Logan raised his hands and replied, "My fault... again."
I rolled my eyes but couldn't stop the smile forming on my lips, "You want to shower or come train with me?"
He looked me up and down and smirked, "Is that even a question?"I smiled.
After our training, I went to my chambers and took a shower. Logan taught me how to fight using my hands and not my magic, should I not have access to them or Helia.
When I got out of the bathroom, Nina was waiting for me, a worried look on her face.
"Nina, what's wrong?"
She hadn't seen me before but as she did, she immediately plastered a smile on her face, "N-No, nothing. Just thinking about... everything."
I closed the distance between us and put a hand on her shoulder, "I know it's not easy to prepare for war and go against our parents but you've got me, Thomas, Logan, Samuel, and Fiora on your side. No need to be afraid. We got this. We trained very hard and we have more soldiers than our parents: we've got Xerus, Icyln, and Bemilis on our side – that's almost the whole realm."
