15: The Nameless

none of them had ever seen so many roxxon spider suppression soldiers in one place at one time. it seemed like they were pouring in from every entrance and exit.

"what do we do?" gaeul asked. their group seemed the most panicked. they had the least experience. leeseo was the only one who had an actual public appearance.

"we could just... try to take them all on?" minju suggested.

"no. we can't. we're all bunched up here, and we're surrounded. since wonhee is the only person who doesn't fight from close range, we're screwed. if we try to fight them off, we'll only hurt each other." hyein said.

"THATS WHY YOU NEED ME! IM THE ONLY ONE STRONG ENOUGH TO TAKE THEM ALL OUT!" haerin screamed. the net still tangled her up, and the spider suppression energy was keeping her body numb.

all 13 girls were plagued with the question. do they free haerin, where she'll single-handedly kill every soldier(and then probably all of them), or keep her in the net to ensure everyone lives, but risk getting captured?

yunah and minju used their extra arms to pull everyone away with the little bit of time they had left.

"do we do it?" danielle asked.

"we have to. she was strong enough to cover the entire mall in her tendrils." rei added.

"we can't! whos to say she doesn't kill us after we free her?" moka said, pointing to her arm. it was wrapped it webs, but everyone knew it was broken.

"if she kills us, no one will be around to stop her. risking our lives means risking everyone's lives. we're the only ones who even have a chance of stopping her." iroha said after a moment of silence. "we will get another chance to finally end her, but right now, she stays in."

"wait, end? i never agreed to that." hyein interjected.

"what other choice do we have? look around you." yujin said.

the walls were covered in blood. all from haerin.

"listen! the topic got really far from what our main goal is. do we free her, or not?" leeseo asked.

all of them sat in silence for a second. roxxon soldiers were still filling into the place, so they don't have much time.

wonhee suddenly raised her hand. "i say we don't!"

iroha, minju, leeseo, yujin, gaeul, and wonyoung agreed. that made seven people, to the six people who thought they should.

"guess we're outvoted." danielle said.

"split up in any way you can! we have to avoid hurting each other!" rei said.

minji created a little voice box just in case she ran into one of her old friends. she put it into her suit, and it was concealed by her sweater. this way, whenever she wore her new suit, her voice would be different.

"i am... the pink spider." minji said to herself in the mirror. she sighed. that name just wasn't intimidating.

she continuously racked her brain trying to think of better names, but they just weren't there.

a/n: not to break immersion, but if you guys remember an old authors note, i said due to my school starting, i had to cut a LOT of content. this part is one storyline i had to cut. don't ask why i thought of this, but hanni was supposed to struggle with a steroid addiction in an attempt to feel as powerful as the other superheroes. i can't cut it from this chapter bc hanni gets like no content in this story😭

hanni stretched. with every passing day, she got more and more flexible. maybe it was genetic. wherever she could fit her head, she was flexible enough to fit her whole body through.
